lol, watch out with that debate, doug. B/c then people are gonna get pissed off...it's the "It's still a Honda" syndrome, applied 21st century style to SRT4's.
As for me, I could have bought a WRX, STi, or Evo. I chose a Z then I chose a GTO. Why? RWD is more fun for me. But that's me!

That's what its about.. location.. seating... doors, etc. That's why I bought the Z too.. I love RWD. When my Z was totaled, I had no plans of getting an STi, or an evo. At first I wanted an evo for fun in the snow, and then the STi limited came out, and bam.. I needed it, lol. If it wasnt for the limited, id of never had an STi. I'll keep RWD for my project/track car. I baby my STi too much to beat on it. |

Alright man, now you've made me really laugh. Why would I be jealous of a 18-20k buzz box? I'm pretty sure I own one of the rarest subarus (ESX, 22B, Limited STi) and choose to tastefully mod it. I also have a mint all original 1969 Z/28 Camaro with 40k original miles sitting in my storage garage. Please, keep your jealousy card to yourself, you dope. Don't get me wrong, I like SRT-4's.. I think they are neat little cars, but you know what? You've given SRT owners a bad stereotype. Have a good night, bro. Last edited by doug; 09-04-2007 at 08:58 PM. |

Wrong Crystal Gray Subaru. Thanks Doug. haha i never knew cared lmao! Like I said prior to the idiot. I chose my WRX over the STi and EVO because it was much more practical than my Spec-V and still faster. And pushing 300 now is plenty of fun for the road. And spending less than 3k to do it is also cool in my book. I like my car alot and always have. Besides, when i want American Muscle I have a formula in the garage to satisfy.

Either way, its another useless person to never contribute a thing to a site begging for technical support.

I went looking at a few cars...I had an 04 Z, but needed practicality, so 2 seaters were out. That rear STB wasn't cuttin' it, either. I tested an 04 WRX and an 05 STi. A bit pricey (the STi), nice and quick, but I really didn't like the feeling of awd. It's great in turns..but it doesn't feel as...I dunno..organic...to me. I really need that feeling of rwd, that feeling that you can rip your car right out from under you in a moments notice..controlled slides..etc. As far as winter concerns, eh, I already said earlier, RWD in the snow wasn't nearly as hard as it has been said, and if I did in the Z with the stock tires, I can do it anything. After the WRX and STi, I looked at an 05 Mustang GT...which could handle about as well as another Ford performance product, the F350...sure..it looked good (IMO), and had good power and a V8..but overall, the product was a disappointment. I found my car on autotrader the next day, and I fell in love. Luxury, V8, and for me, it looked classy and not too crazy (minus the aftermarket ram air hood). The price was ridiculously good too...so I bought it then and there. Haven't regretted it one bit; it's been the best thing i've ever done.
I drove my buddies WRX a couple months ago and I still don't regret it one bit. I know the turbo's can be tuned beyond all belief, and the awd kicks ass (except from a roll...helllooooooooooooooooooo drivetrain loss), but there's something about my car- the european (minus the pontiac ****) looks, the american power, and the exotic (australian) aura that enveloped me. Just so happens i'm in a minority, eh, oh well. I hate when people tell me I bought the slow one, too. LS2's are wonderful, wonderful creatures. They go faster, both in terms of speed and the amount of money flowing from your wallet a month. I like that i'm saving a bit! Anyway, /rant. I just feel that since I am certainly in the minority I should speak out as to why I have my car, and reasons why I have my car, instead of just bashing. Bashing gets you no where..especially when the average age of all of us is probably near 20 years old.
