I went both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday seemed like the better day of the two. The Car show seemed bigger and they were doing Gymkhana on the Road Course. After the Gymkhana Practice was done they started doing open drifting on the Road Course, beginning in the back and then moving to the front. The stands were full of spectators watching the drifting for a solid two hours. Some how I managed to get a microphone and then it got awesome.

Sunday kind of sucked. I got there early with some friends who were supposed to be part of the whole drift/gymkhana thing, but then we were told that no one had gotten K-Rails to protect the crowd so there wasn't supposed to be any drifting in the lot. Then it rained when we were supposed to get back on the Road Course. Oh well.

It seems that Nopi/HIN's problem is a lack of communication with their staff and Englishtown's staff. Everytime we had a question and needed to get and answer it seemed like no one knew what was going on.

Overall it was a cool event.

The show sucked.

Not advertised enough, weather was bad, and everyone I knew from previous years of HIN was NOT there this year. It didn't even feel like HIN, just Nopi alone. Highly dissapointed. Lets hope XDC doesn't let us down.

Yep, still glad I decided to stay in my garage and work on my boost leaks rather than drive 45 minutes to help guys put away tents in the wind/rain.

Haha yea I heard you when you were announcing, only 1 or 2 of the guys that were driving could actually drift pretty well, but it seemed like the goal was for it to be an armature thing. The gymkhana thing was kinda dissapointing, I got some nice pics, but a subie and a srt8 jeep burned more rubber then the Zs and the s2000.

I'll say it again:

Honestly, I will attend the show in the future, again and again. If we give up now as a community, it won't work out in the future. The harder we try, the better it'll be, I'm sure of it.

Mete - you speak of the truth, but if HIN/Nopi keeps screwing over those who are trying to make it good....why hold trust in them? They ruined their own rep by giving a ****show and not doing anything about it.

Here's another vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLysxoidV5A

According to the HIN guys, NOPI was running the show apparently, I believe NOPI has the majority ownership of the merger at the moment.

If we give them our feedback in a CIVILIZED manner, we can make this show bigger and have the northeast car community better but with immature outbursts and videos like those, big car shows will think twice about hosting a show within the NY/NJ area.

Feedback is key for a new type of show because if you realize, this is the first time two huge companies merge to have a super show WITH 3 different track events at an actual car show INCLUDING a concert.

It wasn't an easy task, and yes the officials made mistakes, judging wasn't the best but I believe, giving back HELPFUL feedback instead of yelling "NOPI sucks", would benefit both parties.

I had fun in the end even tho NOPI/HIN was so unorganized. It was cool to see everyone having so much fun.. there was a line of people watching from the street standing on their cars. Good feeling at the road course. Too bad the show was wack. I like the ruckuss with the bride seats lol but I'm not a fan of all that ricer sh*t.

ps.. XDC should be sick.. Manasala(I tried to spell it right) knows what he's doing.. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, man I wasn't too hard on you. All things considered, you did pretty well. The car looked like it was setup to grip, and you said you hadn't had it long right?

The Comms issue at Nopi is due in part to how they run their events. A lot of the people that help put the show on are locals that work under contract for Nopi and because of this many of them have never met the high level staff or even are given the proper credentials.
