I'm not talking about what everyone else's point in Jakes thread are, I was talking about Mark's point and my point, which are pretty similar. So if you want to go and compare that to the 90 other different points in that thread to make yours look better, than so be it. Mark and I were not talking about being under the influence, you included that yourself, and it had nothing to do with Jake's fatal accident. You're straying from the topic to include other random thoughts and non-relevant points to the pretty straight forward topic.

That said. It's a guy thing to speed and have fun, it's a girl thing to flip out and confuse everyone about it.
I'm not trying to 'argue.' I'm just trying to say that I think it's irresponsible to go that fast, no matter how old or young you are, cop or not, no matter what car, bike, truck, no matter what time of day, no matter what public road. All I'm saying is that I hope I don't ever have to hear about one of you dead because of something like that. Geezus Christ, relax, would you?

I agree with Oakes and Mark on this one. Before I had the BMW, going fast was plain stupid in my mind. Once I actually experienced triple digits, I got a whole new perspective on it.

Anyway, damn it is hot outside, and I have to go cut the grass.

There are painters here painting the façade of our building. The one guy is moderate-heavily tattooed. My boss looked at him and said to me, “I look at him and all I can think is ‘that is someone’s son.’” I turned and just stared at her. I couldn’t believe that she even said that to me. Is she passively trying to say to me that I’m a disgrace to my parents? Psht.

I mean, I understand that people, especially the older generation, hold a negative opinion about tattoos, but was that necessary?

Many people don't realize their surroundings, which is why she said that. I am pretty sure you cover up your tattoo's, which is why she said that.

i would have called her out and said "you're someones daughter and I'm someones daughter as well" what are you getting at? and see if she would be so bold to express exactly what she is referring to. maybe it's just his face? it's hard to get upset at it if she wasn't being specific.

I have never heard anyone talk like this in my life? I have never been under the impression that tattoos are bad in any way. Where do you find these people?

She backpedaled by saying that she said it because he was on the phone and walking down the ladder. But, that wasn't until I turned and looked at her.

Sam, I don't keep mine covered up unless it's cold and I have a sweater on. I read our handbook for this reason and it says nothing about not having tattoos visable. This is also the same lady that told me she "does not approve".

I'm not upset so much as I am a little shocked. I just thought it out of line and unnecessary.

Think of it this way. You see a clean shaved, well dress guy at the bank to offer you loan advise. You see another guy at the bank in the next office, not shaved, hair all messy, and shirt not ironed. Another one is clean shaved, but doesn't have his shirt tucked in and pants are below his ass cheaks. 4th guy is dress good, clean shaved, and hair done... but has viable tatoos. Which one would you respect more on based on the first impression of looks?

It is more of a negative seterio type then truth, but it is still there no the less.

Either way, I belive they should be covered up in the work place. It just looks more professional. If you get one where you can't cover it, deal with the consequences.

I don't cover mine up because, as far as I know, our work policies do not state that I have to. I will try to cover them in "polite" company (i.e. trustees, possible donors, etc.), only because they (obviously) make some people uncomfortable. The only people I see regularly besides my coworkers are the volunteers from our partner charities. They are the last people to be offended by tattoos. Most of them are ex-offenders and/or deal with homeless people day in and day out. Do you think they care what we look like? Nope.

She is in her 60's. Like I said, it's very generational. Both my parents have tattoos and my mom doesn't care for mine. She is 55.

Thank you! I do my job, and I do it very well. My tattoos do not affect my work ethic or attitude towards my job.
