Cant be faster than Ziex's or Azeni's. BBS wheels are nice but they are so tame. Shoulda got Garcon Deep.

I went thru my old falken ziex 512's fairly quickly on my old car, but that was mainly because of negative camber issues. falkens are usually pretty good. I would say go with the 912's however. I replaced my 512's with those but didn't get a chance to test them out. they were very cheap and the treadwear rating was much better.

Ordered some 205 50 16 Eagle F1 GS-D3 tonight, should fit the wheels well until I can get some wider rubber and the price was awesome.

Bear in mind that my requirements* for a "high-performance" street tire are different from most peoples that are merely looking for a daily driver tire that performs better than their stock rubber, but I am constantly amazed by those that think the RT615 is that great of a tire. They used to be considered a great tire for the money but were never that fantastic. And the reason they were the best tire in their class: They were the first and only tire in their class for a year or two (2004-2005?).

By today's standard the 615 is a mediocre tire delivering good results for a very brief period of time. There are myriad tire choices that will perform better, perform better longer and cost the same or close enough to the same to make their longevity pay out.

Hankook RS2, Dunlop Z1, Toyo R1R, Bridgestone RE01R (or the new RE11R) Goodyear F1 (these are decent tires, especially at the price Alex got), Yok ES100 (or whatever its new replacement is called), Continental ContiSport, Kumho XS are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Will the 615s last 10K miles on the street? Yes. But so will all the other tires I mentioned and they will take more punishment and deliver consistent results longer.

*I look at on track performance first and foremast: How long will it last at max cornering load? How does it feel when it it losing grip? Is it a gradual fade, or does it simply disappear? How hot can it run? Will it last a full day on the track?

RT-615's are great tires because they aren't redic priced and get the job done as a street tire.

It's ok...I can handle a dissenting opinion. FWIW, the 615s aren't great they are ok. And yes, they do get the job done, just not as well as you might think. Try a great tire once and you'll understand.

I think he has just a little bit more experience than you do....you know, someone that actually regularly races.

Took it to get looked at tonight, and we found.......nothing

No bends, cracks, nothing. I had the car on the way home going about 45 on a straight flat road, let the wheel go and I didn't have to touch it until I got to the light.

My next course of action is to get the tires on the wheels and get it aligned, and if there are any issues which at this point seem doubtful, the alignment shop will be able to tell me.

She will be back on the road sooner than expected

Big thanks to arkadyzv for taking a look at it!
