Jim, for the most part, if you come in with a drawing, they will just trace it, and it won't change. But all artists are different so it's best to just talk to them about it. Even if they were to "change" it. it wouldn't be substantial. they are just trying to add their style. but for the most part you can ask them not to change it and they will just trace it

and that's pretty sweet susie, just by itself even haha.

what about like a big moby dick whale coming up like its gonna chomp down on it.

So I'm tossing the idea around more and more of getting something. Given that I will be working in a business/professional environment, I'm leaning more towards my thigh over my upper arm/shoulder, although some sort of 1/4 sleeve wouldn't be completely out of the question.

I guess I just have to do some real consideration about the meaning behind it and whatnot. I'm not a huge fan of initials and dates for memorials, but I like meaning/symbolism behind the Koi but they just seem so common.

Do you guys just think of random stuff to get done, or do you have a place to go and look for ideas (online, books, whatever)?

That will never happen. Keith is way too much of a FF dork and I could careless about it. So...why would I want something that I'm not into? I'd be questioned all the time, "you really like final fantasy, huh?" Then I'd have to kill myself.

Sorry, all I read was tities.

The one I posted was just for reference. I'm having a hard time finding examples I really like online.

I have my next consult with tara @ Phenomabomb on Thursday at 7pm.

quick idea of what it will be whenever I get it done, and why:

"struck down but not destroyed". I saw it on a girls shirt at the mutter museum a week or 2 back and it stuck. after looking around, it is apart of a gospel that I used to sing with my grandfather before he died and I was very close to him and with him was the ONLY time I've ever gone to church. there is also a song by War of Ages called Wages Of Sin that it is apart of. Just have ...to figure out where and what style... It will be interesting to see what I come up with. Although a decent spot, I don't want to automatically jump to the collarbone spread, or the across the top of my back one either. Not at all objected to them... just trying to be different I guess.... But it needs to be hide able (just incase I decide to get another more formal job someday) but still look good on my sexy self.

We shall see. My grandfather was never around for the stresses of my car, but whenever I was down or depressed he always referenced this gospel and told me to never let myself "be destroyed" and to just get up after being struck down. I always thought it was something to ignore, but with recent developments I now understand that I cannot just lay on the ground broken, I need to get up and stay positive.

Here's the SONG

Lyrics:

Quote:
We've reached our destination yet we've failed you.
Dragged through our consequences in our wake we fall.

Rise to the satisfaction.
Hold to the pain we bear.
With our demise we: Rise in all our glory.
Rise to avenge our past.
Rise as hearts ret glare.
Rise with every heart beat.
Rise!

Why have we used our pain as an excuse to fight so boldly.
Here I am use me in every moment I have left.
We fall.

For those of you who hide in the shadows of our forefathers
"We are hard pressed on every side but not crushed;
Perplexed but not in despair;
Persecuted but not abandoned;
Struck down but not destroyed!"

Push through this final hour, truth lies within destiny.
We bow in your presence, bring forth the fallen world.
Stand for what's been promised, we've reached our destination.
Throughout life we waver and falter and now we wage war.

Hold me in your arms, how patiently we wait for our own death.
We wait for you oh Lord to come and fill the emptiness inside me.

Why have we used our pain as an excuse to fight so boldly.
Here I am use me in every moment I have left.
And here is the gospel. there are different versions but this is the one that I personally used to sing with my grandfather.

Quote:
I'm trading my sorrows
i'm trading my shame
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

i'm trading my sickness
i'm trading my pain
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

We say yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord
yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord
yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord, amen

i am pressed but not crushed
persecuted, but not abandoned
struck down, but not destroyed
i am blessed beyond the curse,
for His promise will endure
and His joy will be my strength

though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning.

I'm trading my sorrows
i'm trading my shame
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

i'm trading my sickness
i'm trading my pain
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

We say yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord
yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord
yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes Lord, amen (2x)

i am pressed but not crushed
persecuted, but not abandoned
struck down, but not destroyed
i am blessed beyond the curse,
for His promise will endure
and His joy is going to be my strength

Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning.

I'm trading my sorrows
i'm trading my shame
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

i'm trading my sickness
i'm trading my pain
i'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord (2x)

All depends. If you like the image they can do a straight transfer to your body.

You should talk it over with the artist first. The image might be great on paper but might not transfer well as a tattoo. They might also be able to add something to the drawing that you like. So bring the image with you and talk it over. A good artist will talk to you about it first, nit just slap it right on.
