I'm going to give it my all this weekend. If it is hopeless after that, we'll figure something out.



ANYWAY. I still haven't gotten a chance to get mock up pictures of the new heat exchanger for the setup. I did however figure out that I am going to mount it on the BACKSIDE of the radiator, so that I can put my slim fan in the front pushing air, and use the fan that came on the rad to pull air on the other side. That way both rads are getting decent airflow and doing their jobs. With that, I will be leaving the tank and pump in the trunk. It is better that way because by the time the coolant gets to and from the tank after going its way, it will be a lot cooler than having the tank in the front behind the heat exchanger. The flow of coolant will go:

Reservoir --> Water Pump --> A2W Intercooler --> Heat Exchanger --> Back to reservoir.

My friend is going to help me get started on Sunday hopefully and finish it this coming week. Yes that's right, my car probably won't be at Good Vibes on Sunday, but this is more important to me. Michelle and I will still be in attendance however... if anyone cares lol.

Ok, so no crazy pics yet, but here are some more stats.

Old heat exchanger: 9.5"x10"x2"
New heat exchanger: 16"x15"x.5" (lol.. seriously it's like NOTHING)
Rad size: 30"x15"x2"

Anyway here is what I'm working with as far as mounting space:







You can see in the 3rd picture my high flow spal fan. As I said above, we're going to take that and put it on the front of the cars rad to push air from the front, the exchanger will stay as is with the fan mounted and wired to pull air through both. It should work out great. My bottom rad support and the front end have plenty of bracket mounting places and secure holding points. Once that is complete all I will have to do is reduce the in/outlet sizes of the heat exchanger to the hoses we will be using to run to the back of the car, plumb, and boom. Done.

The mounting of the heat exchanger will happen Sunday. I'll have to take the car back that night because my DD is not out of inspection yet, BUT once mounted, the setup will be plug in the new lines, fill, and play.

LIP Detailed 6-21-2010. Ready and under the cover until Sunday @ World Wide Stereo. The last time my car looked this good paint wise, was when I bought it. And that is only because it was garage kept under a cover and never driven. This is a Maaco paint job that they made shine somehow. Can't even tell you guys how grateful I am! Also notice my now covered fog lights.

haha, they didn't do any dent work. they did throw some spray paint on the rear bumper for me though, so it looks a lot better than painters tape. I will be getting the car painted someday so the dents are going to be fixed one by one before then.

well the engine bay other than needing a good scrub, is complete as of today with my engine lid shroud installed:

Yep. Was going to the qtown meet tonight. Merged onto 309 in Souderton. 60 mph, switch to the left lane to pass traffic. Within seconds, see people slamming on the brakes and swerving to the right lane. Get to it, it's a green recycling bin. Quick decision... hit it, or go around it. At 50-60mph, I decide to go right. Rear end kicks out, one way, counter, the other way, BAM. Wall. Coast over to the other side of the road. And there we have it.

Anyway. Car is home. Need to get 2 tires for my 15 inch stockers and throw them on the front, put my front 16s on the rear. Calling my insurance company tonight to see if I have options. Going to call Chesmont tomorrow to make them very aware of the situation. Other than that, I'm fine. Cops gave me a 15 day fix it ticket for no inspection and the stickers on the passenger side of the windshield. I don't know how I'm supposed to pull the money out of my ass to get the tires and then find a place to inspect the car (no cat... cant pass emmisions). So I guess I'll be eating those tickets unless a miracle happens. Will update what the insurance company says, and the like tonight or tomorrow.
