It will be an octopus strangling a human heart...I think. I'm toying with the idea of what exactly he'll be doing to said heart. The heart will be realistic, not sure about the octopus...

I don't think a 100% cartoon octopus would do the tattoo justice... but maybe a hybrid cartoon/real style could be used. sounds like a cool idea though!

also to go along with the surfart I posted.. here's the meaning behind it

In the middle of the piece is a hidden subliminal top of a skull that represents the fate awaiting the surfer. The barrel of the wave and his head form the eye sockets. The rock in the water that is also the top of the executioners hood is the nose and the highlights on the water form the cheek bones.

basically most of the surfart makes a shape of a skull if you look at it close enough. pretty deep

If you do an anatomically correct heart it has to be a real looking octopus, if you mix part cartoon and real life looking it'll look odd and out of place.

That's what I was thinking, too. The problem is, I'm not willing to swap the heart, def. want anatomically correct, I'm obsessed with anatomy. The octopus, however, I've found tons more cartoon style sketches that I like, more so than realistic ones. Urgh.

I've been toying with ideas for my thigh piece. I definitely want something steampunk inspired, just not sure what. I was thinking a some type of submarine with a mechanical octopus/squid thing attacking it. I don't know...thoughts?
