This whole debate over slammed cars is stupid. He never didnt say that slammed cars suck, but more or less slammed STREET cars suck in terms of ride quality
EXACTLY!!!!!!
Although I will admit that track surfaces are rougher than most people would ever believe, they're definitely not glass smooth like they are in video games so you definitely still need some suspension travel to suck those bumps up especially when you're running autocross lines and putting the car way up on the curbing

Lowered is different than slammed, lowering cars an inch or so typically doesn't throw the geometry off enough to offset the benefit of that lower CG. It's when you slam a car 2+ inches down that all hell breaks loose.

One of the most common misconceptions when slamming a car is that it handles better because it "feels" like it's handling better. All you are feeling is that it's not leaning as much because of the higher spring rate or the fact that it's sitting on the bump stops, it's not until you put that car on a skidpad or run it at an autocross/track day you will see the decrease in performance, but most "car guys" will never do that anyway so they'll never know. This is one of the main reasons it is always suggested that people autocross their cars stock first so that they will have a baseline to compare their mods (they will inevitably install) to.

When something has foibles and won't handle perfectly, that gives it a particularly human quality as it makes mistakes. That's how we can build a relationship with a car that other people just won't get - Jeremy Clarkson

Oh. I thought you guys were arguing about just lowering cars in general. Now that this is made clear to me, I would have to agree with you. I think lowering a car to the point where it is scraping the ground is definitely pernicious toward handling performance. I think it can look nice, but from a functional standpoint, I don't think it's a good idea.
