Dave, you can readjust that mounting bracket pretty easily. There's a thread on evoxforums about a guy that tweaked his so it felt more to his liking.
Interesting about the vr4. I have always liked those cars. I wouldn't b surprised if you could just buy a proper sized copper ferule that would do the trick like this kit did. It's not a special part by any means.

Yeah, you just reminded me of that link I put up before. That's exactly what I'm talking about with the mounting plate. So far so good, but it is very different feeling from what it was and I can't form an opinion yet on if different is good.

No issues, get it. Car looks a lot better with it.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-e...turbo-kit.html

I keep leaning more and more towards a setup very similar to this for my car. Obviously, I would only replace what I had to. It seems the must-buys are:

Kelford B's with springs for 8,500 rpm
3" Inlet
SF Intake (or similar)
FP Green
400S map maybe?

I want that Cobb XLE BPV too...rated really high with CBRD. Already have an AGP FMIC and UICP, so that's covered too.

The powerband of this is nice and flat with very quick spool. It should get me up to or over 400whp, which would be really nice...

Dreams until I get the cash of course, but I'm thinking the FP Red is too big for my stock block and the Dom 2 is old tech. The BBX is too big and the BBX-Lite is same thing as the FP Green basically.

I would also like to PnP the stock exhaust manifold or upgrade it with a short runner one....

That looks like a really good setup. I'd personally go with a good custom tune over the 400S map.

Have you seen that there's been a few posts recently about cracked turbine housings from weak tunes. People that thought they were buying a conservative tune but their tuner just backed off of the timing which increased the valve overlap and created a "5th combustion chamber" in the turbine housing and cracked it. Interesting...

FP green on my DSM was teets. It's a great streetable turbo with plenty of room to grow.

Thanks! It looks like the answer for my goals. Yeah, the 400s map would just be a nice cover until I let a pro I trust take a crack at it. Cobb's map would be as safe as this Perrin one I've ran for the past year I'm sure.

I haven't! Got a link? I wonder how much of these tunes are 4G63 hangovers.

Sounds perfect to me! Apparently you can crush 420whp with one with the right setup. That's over 500 horse reliably at the crank out of a puny 2 liter! Haha insane. I bet it'd still get me mid-20s gas mileage on the highway too.

I went on a business trip up to my work's powertrain plant this past week for some meetings. While walking around, I took some pics to share with you guys. I think I'll start off with some engine parts and then our transmissions...then finally a surprise monster build the guys were working on in the back shop for fun.

Here's what one of our bare engine block's looks like undressed:

Here's a picture from the line of our smallest engines', the 11 liter, connecting rods:

Here's a picture of our medium-sized engine, the 13 liter, connecting rods and pistons:

Here's our VGT turbo from the same engine line:

Here's a camshaft:

Lastly for the engine bit, here are our crankshafts. They are ground and spec'd in-house:

We make a lot of engines:

Next up will be the transmissions and rear differentials that we build. I gotta run out for the night...until tomorrow.

Keeping it stock-ish. May throw some PSS10s and a swaybar at it with wheels and tint. Upgrade the nav system and it'll be my daily driver.

It'll clear out $300+ a month in car related expenses.

BTW, you were post #1000, Ryan! Congrats, you win.....a beer....eventually when I return to PA.

Here's more pics and info on the car:
http://www.michsforeigncars.com/deta...d-7729255.html

They're paying me what I owe on the Evo, which is good. Clean break. Also, they've replaced the door panels with new ones so there isn't scuffing on the door handles. Car Fax is one owner and well maintained by BMW. Doing a PPI before signing papers, but its already passed two 160 point inspections by independents.

I've wanted an E46 M3 since my freshman year of college and finally the prices are reasonable on them with the known problems known.

I'm not abandoning car modifying and I think you'll like what I want to build in a year or two. *cough* GC Coupe *cough*. I just don't want to mix my daily with my Japanese tuner again.
