yeah can't see it. So question. I have the ticking noise from my lifters and I was going to order topline revised lifters to fix the issue but money is tight right now. I could order them right now but not too sure. The problem is that I wanted to fix things before my tune on monday so do you guys think i shoud do it before my tune or just wait it out.

also my idle is god awful.. i need to find out why.

Noisly lifters shouldn't be an issue unless they're noisy enough to cause phantom knock.

You poor idle may be a post throttle body vacuum leak. Boost leak test time.

evil4g63eagle: Do you recognize this car from your area? It just got brought to my garage sunday from down by/past pittsburgh (about 5+ hours away from me). It's getting a TON of new stuff.. trans, clutch, flywheel, suspension, tires, misc stock stuff fixed, new bb turbo upgrade, full color change to a lexus pearl white, Etc etc etc etc. Just thought you might recognize it being the car came from close to your area, And I don't actually know the owner, Just a car that got dropped off at my garage that I'm going to be building. Been getting ALOT of out of the area cars from all over pa, nj, ETC latly coming for builds and work.

Rob im almost postive i met this guy at a couple meets down in the southside area if his wiring is a mess/rats nest under the dash/wires dangling everywhere i know him lol. And dannygsx you can get away with the lifters the 3g revised ones are the way to go tho youll love how quiet things get. you might be able to get away with adding some lucas to quiet them down for the day your tuning it. But the dreaded idle surge up n down up n down ive been there at least once with every dsm i had. Id check boost leaks first soapy water cant beat a free fix, then check you BIS screw on the throttle body their known to leak. If none of this works check the ISC. 70% of my dsm's all needed it replaced. good look let us know how the new tune feels

If you have a logger, you can set your BISS based on your ISCV value for a warm idle. That will give your car the best control over idle. I've been told there are actually ISCV trim values, so setting it by an ISCV value will give you the best result in the long run.

I am almost 100% sure a datalogger doesn't show that value, but ecmlink does for sure.

Just fixed a 99' gsx in my garage.... Transfer case locked up on the interstate at 80mph. Snapped the rear axles, Blew the rear diff apart, And then sheared the rear diff bolts right off at the subframe. Rubber rear diff mounts on the subframe got ripped out.

Car got new: subframe, rear axles, lsd rear diff, brakes, rotors, hub assemblies, transfer case, EVERYTHING in the rear was replaced with new parts. Everything was rust welded together from the past 11 years of it's life I guess.

During:

Finished: (accidently caught my friend in the pic). Finished it this morning at 3am when this picture was taken.

Onto the next: Doing a GSX getting a new lexus ivory white pearl color change, bb gt35r, built trans, clutch/flywheel, complete drivetrain done (rear/ETC), wheels, tires, suspension work, basically a ground up build.

Hopefully I can contribute alot more to this thread shortly, With a ton of new cars and pictures. I'm buying a new Large garage/property hopefully within the next few weeks and I'm in the middle of a ton of work on dsm's/subaru's so it's tough for me to get alot of pictures with everything going on. Good thing is the new garage purchase should be a fairly easy ordeal being I do not need loans or all the other b/s, I'm just going to pay cash for it. Hope to see more dsm's in this thread!
