I don't think i spent over 15k to buy a car till i was 24 almost 25 for the nice insurance drop. If he wants a good experince to learn how to drive a rear wheel drive car grab a fox body or a Z28/Iroc. I almost took out a couple signs in my camaro chasing my brothers mustang around in the rain as soon as it started to spin i had no clue what to do just slammed the breaks an prayed I didnt wreck. The car only cost 1500 bucks but I had some time into it which makes you appreciate it more.

buy an older impreza(93-97) or legacy(95-99) u will save on insurance, save on gas, and u will learn how to be a safer driver. Get an extra set of wheels for winter tires and call it a day. U can eventually put money into a suspension set up and honestly enjoy the car. *not trying to sound like a parent* coming from a guy who works for multiple ambulance companies. I see my share of young kids(and adults for that matter) in faster cars that theyre parents(or they) bought for them and they dont know how to control. Do yourself and ur parents a favor. But something older and N/A manual is fine cause u will learn to be a better and safer driver. And remember a car is replaceable.... ur not.

You don't need a 'tuner' car to drive, you will be luck not to wreck it as is. Buy a POS and learn to drive, then upgrade in a year or 5.

I just turned 25 and just bought my first brand new car. My previous 6-7 cars were all bought for no more than $1500. My first car was an 87 Chevy Nova that I dropped $800 on. The moral of the story is buy something cheap and save your money for other things in life. You can buy a new car down the road later in life.

but since i built my car i baby it to the MAX!! o and hey even with my stock 1987 BMW with fresh paint and some stereo i stil was one of teh most recognized cars, because they know i did the work and i pay for it. so my advice is buy a beeter so you can save a few more bucks and when your ready you can but taht same car for a little less and put even more mods on it with that extra cash you saved. or just buy a house

Plus your 16, how about saving for college instead of getting a $15,000 car... Get a nice car when you graduate.
