God dammit I want to go to this so bad but they won't let my Cobra in without a 4 point bar... they'll let my girl's Jetta in though... it is the turbo... it also is the Wolfsburg edition... hmmmm

On road race tracks like this, they don't let verts on unless they have at least a 4 point bar, so they won't let me run in my Cobra. My girlfriend has a Jetta which is a hard top so they would let it on track and between the 200+ horse motor, Wolfsburg suspension, and driver mod, I could probably keep up with at least a few of the other cars in whatever group I end up in.

i had it out today... as you know, the timing tensioner has been on the fritz.
i think it jumped a tooth. basically something popped and then it sounded like a subaru. i checked the spark plugs to see if one of the cylinders was dead, but they all look the same. pretty sure it jumped a tooth. i started to take it apart to fix it before the reading drift day, but i cant get the unorthodox main pulley off. so i decided im gonna have import intel weld the diff on the 200sx, and ill drive that

if anyone has a pulley puller that actually works, lemme know

you might be fine, they let my buddy with an s2k & no bar run the last time the did a 'free' event.

if anyone cares to see this track @ speed here is a vid I took when I was there last time. pay no attention to the line, I was just screwing around. I heard they ran the track backwards to slow everyone down.

I tried to sneak in at the free day when the track first opened but the owner of Crazy Horse (a huge Mustang shop) is one of the tech's and he wouldn't let me on

I've seen this promoted on basically every forum I'm on, so I think the turnout is going to be huge.

Unless the event is 'structured' safely, meaning that they group people by their skill level and experience like you would do in an HPDE, I won't be going.
With all the different type of cars/people I don't feel comfortable being on track in the same run group with someone who doesn't know its not a 'race'.

Just preregistered, the opening day free runs went very smoothly, they separated the cars by enough when they first let them out that in the 8 minute heats there just wasn't enough time for the group to bunch up.

may be a dumb question but since its Etown is there a noise rule with certain mufflers that cars are running? I know they are strict with that at the drag strip

why go to the race track if you dont want to race around?

if someones riding your ass a little too hard, just pull to the side and let them by. dont be scurred, its only ......passing

the last time etown had the free track day, i brought my hardbody truck. i figured since all of the cars in my group were sports cars, i would take the last spot in line since i didnt want to hold them up with my slow truck. so we get out on the track, and every single lap, everyone was just pacing around slow as ****. it was gay. i ended up just stopping for a minute, so i could get a little action until i caught up again.
