scheduled an alignment, ss brake line, and whiteline roll center adjuster install day at R/T Tuning next monday.

also picked up some VHT header paint for the header. that and the prodrive ebcs will be the only parts not installed on the car once this is all accomplished.

anyone want my stock STi seats?

Adjusted the rebound 1 click softer front and rear. I liked the change, these single clicks are really noticeable behind the wheel. The cars getting softer, which is what I want for daily driving. I just put compression down a click front and rear to match and I'm going to give that a try soon. One thing that I am noticing is that with the exception of sharp drop-off bumps, the car is a lot quieter.

I'm going to have to cut the x-brace strut tops AGAIN. The tophat is pretty much junk IMO. What brainiac at Cl Development came up with the idea of closing off any access to the strut tops? I have to do this again to reach the adjuster with a T-handle 2mm wrench. (I've already spent 6 hours test fitting those tops and cutting them with the dremel to try to get the BC adjuster to fit. Now this...).

Measured the ride height on the flattest portion of my new driveway. 14" front 13.5" rear ON THE DOT right out of the box from RCE. Thank you RCE!

Alignment is scheduled for Monday. I'm really excited to see what the car will do with a good one. So far, the effects on changing the daily driver settings by going softer have shown the WIDE range of this system. In 2 clicks I've gone from a sporty ride to almost a German luxo-barge minus strut travel. Almost tempted to go to stock ride height or something close to it to squeeze every mm of travel possible out of these T2s.

Current scorecard:
My modified Daily Driver Settings from RCE:
Fronts: 2 clicks softer bump, 2 clicks softer rebound
Rears: 2 clicks softer bump, 2 clicks softer rebound

brakes feel great, rca kit is noticeable with the lack of body roll. two great mods.

the alignment is another story i won't post here. very, very upset.

I'm interested in more opinion on that RCA kit. I've heard some people say it makes a negligible difference and others that it's a must have.

You probably don't feel comfortable posting about the alignment here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one curious as to what happened...
regardless, your tuning philosophy is excellent and you can tell that more than enough thought and research (and some cash) went into the build.

I appreciate the kind words, its taken a lot of questions and reading to get to this point (and cash).

Well, the RCA kit gets rid of the remaining body roll that the car had even with the T2's, plates, and swaybar. It reminds of the same effect on roll as having the front swaybar set to 29mm did but then some since the ride isn't as punishing over bumps. It really depends on ride height too from what I've read, since its designed to move the roll center up on lowered cars. My car isn't slammed, it's at the recommended 14"/13.5" height, so there may be some drastic changes in feel depending on what height the person is set at.

I'd rather not post anything pubically about it because I hate the he-said, she said type stuff online. The summary is basically that I asked for RCE recommended specs, was told I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about, and given different specs that I've already run on and understeered with at autox....after waiting 8 hours.

Decided on my plan of attack for the engine.

I'm going to sell the GT SPEC clone header I have and instead go with a ported stock manifold. The ported stock manifold will make it easier for me to run an EWG up-pipe in the future since it's two bolt and not the 3 bolt like the GT SPEC has. Also, I'm more confident in the underhood temps being lower with the ported stocker than with the GT SPEC, even coated. This is important because the setup I've chosen to run is:

I plan on using this with a Spearco TMIC. All of the dyno results with that kit that are on that page are with a TurboXS or Spearco TMIC. I'll do the normal stuff to combat heatsoak, but I'm not expecting it to be a big issue, otherwise Jorge wouldn't have used them with his kit.

After looking at dyno sheets of 20gs, DOM3s, FP Greens, and GT30R kits, the spool is all very similar. I know dynos don't do a great job of showing spool in transient boost response but the GT30R has a ball-bearing center journal which should make up for it. The TMIC will also help with spool over a FMIC with the long tubing required to make one work on a Subaru.

That flat powercurve is showing that it's the perfect match to the motor. I'm very impressed with their results with the kit, and the price is nice too.

Now I need to buy a clutch/flywheel/cf driveshaft/injectors/Spearco and save up for the kit.

First step is to get retuned with what I have now and a ported manifold to hold the car over until it gets transformed again.

Oh, expect pics with the new wheels on the car today too.

Well, after two days of driving around on the O.Z.'s, the bent wheels got to me with all the vibration so I ordered up a whole new set from Tire Rack and had them overnight it. I got them in at 925AM and mounted and balanced on the car at NBT by noon. I went with a whole new set because they come matte black, not gloss black like the ones in the pics above. It would have stuck out like a sore thumb, so I'm just going to get the bent wheels fixed at the wheel collision center in Bath and then resell them.

The car suspension is 97% done. I'm thinking lateral links and trailing arms will be coming over the winter to finish it off.

I can't wait for the seat rails to come in so I can swap out the seats. Then I plan on beefing up the drivetrain in preparation for the GT30R sometime next summer.

Exterior-wise, I'm thinking a Cusco lip and tint. Rotors are starting to develop a lip up front, so I'll be upgrading to two-piece DBA rotors eventually as well to finish off the Brembos.

Also want to get some real summer performance tires on it next year, such as the RE01R, Advan Neova, RT615, or Dunlop Star Specs. I love how lightweight these Pilots are (22lbs a piece!), but they're squirmy and soft like my all seasons.

Tomorrow is the first autocross with this whole new setup so I'm not expecting anything other than to learn how the new car reacts and feels. I took it through some backroads and its so much different now than it was just a month ago. So solid, smooth, forgiving. I can't imagine what it'll feel like tomorrow with the Track Settings on the T2s.

Got my first autocross in with the full suspension today. I brought along an air compressor, water, allen key for the rear T2s behind the seat, air gauge, cash money, and my helmet. I forgot the T2 instructions though! So I only got to run the car on the daily driver settings with the PS2 tires with a -2 front, -1.8 rear alignment. I wouldn't recommend this alignment or these tires to anyone looking to autocross. The front of the car was ice skating the entire day and couldn't put the power down. Coming from RE070s, my first run was way too hot for these tires and after the first slalom I blurted out to the instructor riding along, 'These tires SUCK!"

After two runs, the sky opened up and the lot got drenched. We tried to adjust the camber plates up front, but only had metric wrenches and the Vorshlags use standard-sized. In a last ditch effort, on my last and 5th run of the day, I put the car into full open and bumped the front rebound up one click. This let me put more power down and I turned in my best run of the day, a tire sliding 39.1.

The FTD was 34.870

Yeah, this day sucked.

I need more negative camber up front, better tires, and the track settings for the T2s next time I head out. Then we can better get into my driving...I was a bit too aggressive, but calmed down as the day went on and Myles had me reciting to myself out loud to relax while I drove, haha. I gotta say, that actually worked.

Here's a shot of me in the grid with the instructor riding along. He raced an STX prepped WRX on Dunlop Direzzas with -3 camber up front and -2 out back. His best was a 36.5, so I know my car has a lot more in it than what I got out of it today.;)

Yeah man, I was about to say. I turned around and you were gone, haha. They called a break until the lightning had gone away and also used the lunch break during that time too, so we didn't run again until after 1pm, then we all lost 1 run too, so instead of 6 total we got 5. The lot was slippery as hell during my run group, but got better as the afternoon wore on. I was done around 3ish or so. Had a lot of fun, just need to get better tires and a better alignment to compete.

I was racing in SM and finished 7th. I would have finished 3rd if i didn't hit two cones, but I was fighting severe understeer from the alignment and lack of proper tires all day. After that second run a rain storm hit and covered the lot, so the rest of the day was relearning how to drive the car on the wet with an entirely new suspension, tires, alignment, and a big front swaybar. haha, not too shabby all things considered.

I always autoxed on -1.5 front and -1.0 rear camber and often had issues with understeer, but I felt it was my inexperienced driving that caused it. Probably some of both really...

This let me put more power down and I turned in my best run of the day, a tire sliding 39.1. The FTD was 34.870 Yeah, this day sucked. I need more negative camber up front, better tires, and the track settings for the T2s next time I head out. Then we can better get into my driving...I was a bit too aggressive, but calmed down as the day went on and Myles had me reciting to myself out loud to relax while I drove, haha. I gotta say, that actually worked. Here's a shot of me in the grid with the instructor riding along. He raced an STX prepped WRX on Dunlop Direzzas with -3 camber up front and -2 out back. I would have finished 3rd if i didn't hit two cones, but I was fighting severe understeer from the alignment and lack of proper tires all day.
