Don't like pillar gauges or the unpainted hood, but love the color and think the car is radical, too.
JSauce- You can probably get the N/A engine for about $200, say $1000 for the shell, a turbo head for less than $200 (hell, I'd give you one if you were to go through with this), and then ECU, wiring, and the grab a bunch of cheap-o stock DSM parts for it until it starts running. Biggest foreseeable issues are: Getting your hands on the TII trans, wiring, motor mounts, and finding a hood that would fit over the cam cover. Could likely be built for about 4K after everything was said and done and you did most of the hard work yourself. Edit: Add to that the cost of having the manifold flipped around, but that could be a simple re-weld a tubi, or the opportunity to go top mount.

I'm not a huge fan of the pillar pods either, but unfortunately sometimes you have to have important gauges near by. In my talon I still have a very difficult time watching boost or wideband during a pull.

That project suddenly became feasible, minus the wiring. No idea about wiring.

For what it's worth, you can also use the trans out of a Mighty Max Pickup, IIRC. They used some 4G something or other block that shares a bolt pattern with the 4G63.
Though, finding a mighty max trans might be just as difficult as finding a TII Trans. The trick would be to find a TII FC with a blown motor and full drivetrain stuff. Sell the rear subframe, axles, hubs, diff and driveshaft to someone doing an LS swap to an NA FC (TII FC stuff is like 2x the strength of NA FC stuff, IIRC) and you can probably come up a good half to three-quarter stack. At that point, assuming you got the Blown TII on the cheap you've got a 'cheap' transmission + a bunch of other stuff you can sell. Or go to a JDM place and see if they've got a trans, but last I checked (going back two years at this point) TII running gear was still somewhat rare/expensive.

more like how awesomely overpriced the car is...he WAS asking 70k but he's down to 68k now. here's the for sale ad copied and pasted
I’m doing the unthinkable here and selling my pride and joy!!! I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to the car and I’m just ready for another project. As some of you know me and recognize the car, I purchased the Supra back in 09’ from a very well known Supra Forum member by the name of Snacks. Since my purchase and ownership of the Supra, I have done plenty of changes to her that have come to a total between parts and labor at around $30k or so. Plenty of help from keeping the car maintained to where it is today, I couldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for Doug from FabShopMiami. The car made 853rwhp @30psi…Couldn’t boost any higher due to running out of wastegate spring. I ordered and have a heavier spring from HKS that hasn’t been installed. With it installed, the car will be able to boost higher thus being able to go well over the 900rwhp mark. The car runs absolutely great at where it is right now being that the HKS T51R turbo is at its sweet spot. The car currently has 64,911 miles Video of the dyno: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPqMv37VN3I On another note, the car has NEVER been tracked and is always garage kept. typically i expect 50-75% return on aftermarket products being sold and if your selling a car with stuff installed people should probably expect 10-20% return with 0% return on labor, because no matter how much someone tried to say they paid alot to have the car worked on you wont see me giving any ****s.

supras are the only cars that appreciate in value with mods. Really better investment than real estate.
