Low, low, low tens. Spend1 (a local) was running tens with a stock block/trans and a big ol turbo, 93. Maybe cams, but it probably didn't make a whole lot of difference at that point. I'm a bit out of the loop, but his car was that fast when mine was still running.

Still on the stock IM!!!

Picture I snapped at the shoot out of that car.

Video of the car breaking the record
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67n_A...eature=related

He actually blew the motor on either that pass or that day, people in the thread were calling him out and saying it didnt qualify as a stock block record, so he posted this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoQCa...layer_embedded

If he would have had an awesome 60 foot like he usually does, car might have gone low 9 to mid 9s

Here are the rules to qualify it as stock block. (as per DSMtuners)

OEM uncut crank
OEM std size pistons
OEM piston rings
OEM rods
OEM main bolts
OEM rod bolts
OEM oil pump
OEM oil pan
BSE optional
NON Filled block

The real big one is the OEM rod bolts, since those are usually the weakest link in the OEM engine. Everything else is fair game, Run any headgasket, Any Headbolts, any head, etc.

I HOPE MY POST WAS INFORMATIVE ENOUGH!

how could i ever understand how cool that car is without knowing what size tire it had or, more importantly, what size an fittings are on that catch can along with the spring rate on those BC coilovers...

i wish i learned anything here.

Tire size: M/T 23 x 9 x 16 (no stretch/ no tread, because actual racecar)
Fittings: -10 (Proclassic, because classic racecar)
Spring rate: F200kg/R400kg (Camber 0*/0*, because actual racecar)

What the common denomnominator??

I wonder how long my stock block will stay together....There is theories that the reason these engines fail is just too much torque, due to quick spooling turbos and small hotsides. Thats why my next set up is going to shift all my power to the right.

Saw one the other night on the way to the vtec parade/races. Was in a friends rb25 s13 and we rolled on an sti trying to ricer flyby. So we pass this talon and im like bro dont underestimate that thing. So he rolls up next to us and gives the three beeps and we get the hit and go. I hear him spooling but hes not really moving then all the sudden WAM that ****er was gone. Made me cheese from ear to ear.

dsms been doing it the best in the i4 for awhile. The jury is still out on G.E.M.A. though.

hell my stock block record is 11.02 and some other guy just put down 660whp with the 2.4... (im sure neither will last that long though, actually both have posted that the car is still alive lol)

As awesome as the DSM platform is, I think the most underrated Jap car is 3000GT/Stealth. Their stock motors are no slouches by any means. you just dont hear anything about it because its in the same class as the almighty supra.

93+ Came with a forged Crank, The motor is pretty bullet proof, My black car has about 196K on the engine and it has been through a lot of, noob learning mistakes and it is still together and runs great, although the Talon has given me the tools and knowledge on how to make that car WAY better.

My next platform will probably be an S-chassis. Not to bandwagon but it allows me to have a platform for drift and drag.

the wide bell housing 4G63 will bolt directly to a TII transmission. Hard part will be sourcing the correct block (not from a Talon, which uses a narrow mounting, need to find a van or truck motor). Then pull the DOHC head and turbo setup from a DSM. Should be a very easy swap into an FC if it isn't too tall with the cam covers.
