nice pan shots dan, i esp like that second one with the driver.

griffter, what program are you using to merge/process your HDRs? the one above is a bit overbaked and washed out. personally im not a fan of HDR on cars. it definitely has a place and its a tool, just like a lens or a filter, but its all in how you use them. i use HDR on shots that i want to look gritty and surreal, things that i dont necessarily want to look natural. its also all about how you shoot HDR. if i want a more realistic looking image, i will use something like 5 shots at 1/2 stops between shots, whereas if i want something to look crazy and surreal, ill use 9 shots at one full stop between shots. i started using Photomatix but as i got into it a bit, i noticed that the HDR images that it processed were more global in adjustments, meaning that they were a bit overprocessed in all areas without much ability to effect certain portions of the image. i found a program called HDR Photosuite which works in a way more precise manner. it really takes alot of adjustment to get something to look over processed. sure its not as drastic, but to me, that is the attraction.

Great advice. Thanks! I like that photo up there.

As for your questions, I used Photomatix essentials trial version. My camera had Auto exposure bracketing which I used. They were one stops apart (-1, 0, +1). I guess I'll try what you said, 5 shots 1/2 steps apart manually. I'll also check out that software that you mentioned. I'm just starting out in photography and my usual subject is my car lol. Any tips and comments will always be appreciated.

thank you sir, and yes, that is eastern state.

on another note, its funny how things work. those two spiral staircase photos were only taken because i was actually photographing some of my actual canvas prints being manufactured for my new web site. the building is an art gallery in one part and an apartment building in another. i just happened to see the stairs and take some snaps of it. well the owner of the art gallery and building, who is a world recognized artist herself, saw the black and white one and liked it, so i showed her the other one and she bought them both on the spot! it was def the quickest that i have ever taken an image and sold it!
