Track days usually start at 250 per car from what I hear, racing is expensive. Your loss.

And holy understeer JM haha

If this were an event on either of the main tracks none of us would be able to afford it, the entry fee would be $300 - $500 to get in, you would be spending $500+ on a brand new set of tires that would be corded by the end of the day, and you wouldn't have a very good time because you would be jumping straight into a track day without any autocross experience. $1,000 per day is a bit much for me so I'll stick with autocross.

There's a very true saying that goes "autocrossers make great road racers but road racers don't necessarily make good autocrossers."
Most of the big time road racers have a strong background in autocross, it truly is the best and cheapest way to learn handling dynamics. Not to mention that it's the most adrenaline packed 40 seconds of your life once you have been to a bunch of them and know what you're doing.

All for $50, $15 of which you will get back when you are hooked at the end of the event and go home to sign up for an SCCA membership. Then it will only be $30 or $35 per event.

Ciotti, $50 can buy a lot of stickers and neon lights, you know this

I wore my helmet a bit today and noticed that with the visor fully closed it starts to fog the shield every time I exhale...how do I get around this?

Personally, I will be attending every event that is local within reason. SJ, PA, and maybe a few MD, I hear there are some in like DC or something.

From what I've heard, the ones in DC are a mess, WAY too many cars show up... In my opinion the best ones are the South Jersey SCCA events, the Philly SCCA events, and the North Jersey events in that order.

As for your visor fogging up, the easiest way of getting around that is to just leave it flipped up, I can put mine down because it's brand new and has an antifog coating on the inside. If you really want to run with the visor down, get this stuff called cat crap it's an antifog wax that you can put onto the inside of the visor that does a pretty good job preventing fogging, or you can use the RainX anti fog windshield stuff, that works decent too.

I may just leave it cracked a bit, that way it doesn't fog.

The 18th can't come soon enough.

I definitely hear your argument and I agree with you. It was a free day at the track at englishtown late last year and I had a blast on the track. The best part was I didn't really eat through my tires that much. After listening to a few of you reply to my earlier message I might still go ahead and do it. I have never done cone courses before and I only have one day of track experience under my belt as of right now.

How long is the course that they usually set up? Less then a mile around I take it.

Anyway. I just wanted to man up and apologize for what I did. I was a complete @$$hole. I talked to John today, and told him I was WAY out of line. He and you guys had every right to be mad at me, and what I did/said. Truth be told, I feel really bad about it; as I should. Again man, im sorry for what I said. Just uncalled for, and plain out wrong.

Well I would actually like to learn how to do a clutch swap one of these days, as I know my clutch will not last forever.

The Englishtown "road course" is actually much more like an autocross than a true road course like Lightning or Thunder at Millville, at the most you may touch 100 once at E-town on the main straight, at Milville you will be over 100 more than you are under 100 throughout either track.

Autocross layouts are usually no more than a few hundred yards total, they are very technical which is why they force you to learn how to properly enter, apex, and exit corners and any sloppiness will make a big difference in your time.

I hit about 85 on the main straight at e-town, so yeah the technical stuff would actually be to my advantage to learn then.

Richy - You better go then so I can compete again you in time trial since I take it this type of course is judged by starting and ending time, not running in a pack.
