I have access to a wrecked SRT-4 complete car (Hit in the passenger front, Not too bad, But salvage titled), For $3,000. I also can get a n/t shell at any time, CHEAP. Just incase anyone wants to take on a project like this. I can have everything ready within a day if you were thinking about it, You can start it by the weekend or the middle of this week.

It would definatly be something different. I don't think anyone hash done this yet, Either.

With the srt4 that I have access to, And the n/a car I have access to, You woulden't have much into the completed car at all.

I've honestly never even though about it!

If you did it yourself using my cars/parts, You would have well under $5,000 into the completed car, with alot of parts left to sell off the actual srt4.

Rob, I say this with the utmost affection: I hate you. After the holidays, I may just have to take you up on that.

I actually just really want another DSM so I can finish my electric power steering pump idear. I'm using an MR2 pump and res, but I was just informed that the Clio uses a pump and res combo that would reduce the size of the system drastically.

I hear you on that. Makes no sense. They wouldn't have had to design a completely different chassis just to support the 420A. I actually heard rumors that Mitsubishi of America wanted to cut costs by using a 100% domestic engine on the models that were going to be the best selling (aka N/A). That way, they could save boatloads of money not bringing parts over from overseas.

Hey since this is a popular dsm thread i didnt feel like making a thread but my eclipse is not going over 5000rpm..Previous owner said the o2 sensors needs be changed(Also has a check engine light on) I have those code readers but can that be true?

The o2 sensor is disconnected due to the fact from the car itself is not the same plug as the engine since its a 99.

Got the new 5spd engine harness in this one tonite. (Had an auto harness being it was an auto and the previous owners had no idea how to work on a car apparently.) Sheet metal intake mani, Fully built block with 0 miles (entire setup has 0 miles), built head and 280' cams, 1000cc injectors, Garrett gt35r bb turbo, fmic kit with 3" piping, HKS turbo back exhaust, ETC ETC ETC. Just did the intake mani, Now I'll be wire tucking it tomorrow.

Some won't agree with it, But I had some time to waste tonite so I wanted to see how long it would take to blow up an awd 4g63t car. They are strong engines to say the least. It wasen't easy.

Back of the block. Coulden't get the other holes, It got too dark.

I don't agree with it, your car your motor; so its whatever. I am curious what you did to blow it up however.

I bought the car for the parts on it only!! I'm junking the actual car, That's why I blew it up. I woulden't ever cause damage to any of them I actually have intentions on saving though. It's the first motor I EVER blew up. I've never hurt a motor before suprisingly, Especially not on purpose. The car had a hurt bearing (Tapping/knocking). I did a bunch of anti-lag launches back to back until it finally went completly.

On another note though. I killed one, And brought one to life all in the same nite, So it's worked out well.

not bad i guess for free but the work to do it all doesn't make it worth it to me in my opinion. Make sure you get it ported before installing it at least, maybe get a ebay 02 dump and ported stock exhaust manifold while your in there.

well, having a big ol turbo that spools at 4K and driving backroads doesnt mix for me. I am used to a supercharger that is at full boost at 2,250. my lil t-25 pulls great on the highway.

I have an E3/16g that needs to go back in cause slag hit the blades. its has a month of use on it. took till like over 3K to spool. that was kinda ghey to me. im not about big power, i'm about using the entire power band above 2K.

i would rather get the FP mani than to take all the time to port a stocker that will eventually crack.

lol.

The 16g is not a big turbo, and if you're spooling at full speed by 4K, it's also unlikely you're running a big boy.

My FP Green with 272s and a 2G mani spooled 25PSI by 3300RPM and still had plenty of headroom to go. I dd'ed it for 15K like that, and the previous owner had the same setup for another 15K before that, no cracks. Even had a welded on flange for EWG.

I think you need to research a bit more, the 14b is not going to give you much powerband and I think that there may have been more than the given issues with your 16G. 3K is still really early in the revband, and I realize you're coming from a S/C'd setup, but the two are really not comparable at this point. There are not a whole lot of turbos that are going to give you full revband performance with early spool aside from the 16gs and 20gs. Good luck with the search. Holla if you decide to step up your game, my 0mile rebuild Green is just gathering dust.

my engine is not capable of handling an FP green at all. the amount of work to make that happen is thousands above what i really wanna do.

How so? I had basic pretty basic mods like a fuel pump, VPC/AFCII, EWG, 272s, AFPR, and a FMIC. And 145k on the stock short block with ARPs and a standard Mitsu MLS. If I remember correctly, your setup is already similar minus the 272s and you have link and a SMIC.

maybe its me then. i just dont wanna hurt this old car. I REALLY like this one.

i know if i do ARP head studs then it should be OK for a 16G on a decent amount of boost, so long as the rod bolts hold ok. the HG was replaced when the head was swapped out, so thats ok.

Sounds like you're unsure of the 4G63's capabilities. My brother's Talon is running 31psi on a Holset. I'm sure upgrading your turbo won't hurt your engine.

Yup.

The stock internals can handle upwards of 500hp. I have seen a few people at slowboy do it.

Problem comes down to tuning and knowing how to tune it properly.
