I don't think I'll ever understand the complaints about the R35.

It's an incredible piece of engineering that is insane for the money.

edit: for the record, I'd pick an rx7.

also 3000gts look awesome in darker colors, but not so hot in lighter ones.

My only complaint is they fact that they talk about the skyline legacy, granted there has been some serious changes from the kgc110's to the r34's and we rarely talk about models like the wagons, but I feel that it should be a different model name.

Lol I don't know if anyone in this thread knows any of my cars minus Liberta randomly seeing my Subaru at Import Alliance. But yea what the car is, is my best friend left for the marines and gave this Stealth which he loved to his younger brother. His brother destroyed it and gave it back to my friend. My friend is giving me the cash to restore and improve it how I see fit. I am not going to charge him for labor, but since I get to choose the parts I am going to have some fun. It is an r/t unfortunately.

Calling the R35 a Skyline is completely pointless, because the Skyline is still being produced (Know as the G37 to those of us unlucky enough to live outside of Japan.)

If anything they should say that the R35 is based on 20+ years of iteration of the GT-R platform. There's no denying that much of the tech is just the logical continuation of the R-Chassis development.

But on the subject of Skylines:













It's apparent to anyone with eyes, that there was both a Styling Evolution and also a sort of homage to previous models as the R30 evolved into the R34.

Then you see the R35 and realize it bears minimal resemblance, if any, to the previous models of the R-Chassis. This is not all that uncommon in the automotive industry, especially after a long hiatus of a particular chassis.

Perhaps if anything, people have issues with the R35 because many people waited in the US to get a Skyline of their own, only to get something that wasn't. Sure, the performance is spectacular, but does it feel like a Skyline? It's a matter of opinion.

The R35 has some styling cues from the older models, but yeah, it's clear it isn't a Skyline.

It's clear to me that they just separated the models, sort of like what Subaru wants to do with the WRX. The GT-R had become way different than the Skyline itself, so splitting the models made sense.

Though, the styling of the R35 does show an evolution from the prior cars, to me. The new Skyline/G37, however, does not.

That is sexy ass hell. And I was actually thinking of that in terms of how they work the skyline term similar to the impreza term. I wonder what they view it has in Japan. I know they make wagons etc., but we never get them here so only the ones we talk about are the nismo or v spec or gt's.
