i heard about it but didn't think it affected me until saturday when my friend told me flights to europe are stopped. anxiety set in after that, but all should be good by monday when i leave.

yea. thats ridiculous. i never thought of that aspect of volcanos. everyone always things of immediate impacts like lava or pyroclastic flows, or black out conditions from smoke, but i never thought about planes being grounded. makes sense though

they say that it has been the biggest airline revenue loss since 9-11. but the EU is being criticized by their lack of communication and how the handled the situation. supposedly it took over 5 days for the eu to have a conference call about closing their airspace.
