This is Justin's NA that sees the road course and autocross and maybe other events that I don't know about. Maybe the pic is old, but I don't remember a lip on his car last time I saw it.



I would talk to him before making a move on anything because he can tell you what works well with what and what isn't worth getting, etc. Personally, I doubt an r-package lip will do much alone, and I don't know what it costs, or the GV, but you will probbably be more happy with a nice set of upgraded sway bars or strut bars if you don't have them yet. Sways on my car made a great difference.

They were definately some goofy ass dudes, I heard them talking about driving John Michael's car when they first came, or that they wanted to haha.

For the next meet if they come back, none of us drive, we all took the bus to check out some hot cars that punk street racers left in the parking lot after getting arrested

CN...i know you "doubt" what an R package lip does. But, you seem to like miata.net. That site, has someone who helped design the miata R package...im sure he would be able to give you some info that would change your mind. The piece was build IN a wind tunnel and tested for a long ass time. Not trying to argue, or say IM RIGHT YOUR WRONG..Im just telling you the facts that can be found online. Also, if you've ever driven a lipped/non lipped NA..you'de feel it instantly. You seem to make that guy out as the know it all of miata. I should come talk to him, and see what he has to say. Ide love to know why he doesnt run atleast an R lip. Everybody who runs NAs, knows what it does. Its proven, on paper,in tunnels and on tracks.

BTW CN, I wasnt trying to argue at all. Just sharing what I know. Its not all stuff that ive read, but Ive driven 3 types of NA miatas. No lip (mine) Rpackage lip and Garage Vary lip. In that order...the first one has no downforce, the Rpackage give you a little bit more, and the GV changes things completely. The faster you go, the better it works.

Having a good suspension also helps. When I put my coilovers on, a lot of the issue went away.

How is dumping a car on coilovers a good suspension? You didn't upgrade anything else. For example bushings. Bushings play a huge factor in the rigidness of a suspension.

+1 for the icy roads. I was on the brakes a lil with the wheel cut and fricking understeered into a curb at like a whopping 15mph and broke some supension crap. Oh well $500 beaters FTW
