not saying i dont like hearing powerful civics, but those are like 0.5% of the entire "modded" honda population.
there's an old saying..."if you can hear it and still see it....it must be slow".

however, it dont matter what you have...you shouldnt drive like a douche in a parking lot, i dont care what you drive.

thats just retarded...you make it sound like just b/c a vehicle doesnt have as much HP as another car it wont kill someone if he gets out of control?? you're the one sounding retarded. any vehicle that hits someone has the potential to seriously hurt or even kill someone, regardless of its power..geez. its funny that you think this way though...makes for good reads.

Amen to both of these. I rarely go to meets anymore because I usually wind up embarrassed by the time I leave. There are too many young fools out there, acting like imbeciles, and I have absolutely no desire to be associated with them. It's gotten to the point where I don't even like admitting that I'm into the tuner scene -- because 'outsiders' automatically look down their noses at me since they assume I'm one of those fools. And I can't really blame them for that -- the vast majority of the tuner crowd these days DOES consist of people who deserve a good kick in the ass.

I was just out to lunch with Brandon and some of his coworkers yesterday, and one of his coworkers made a sneering sort of comment toward me (since he knows I'm a car person) about 'punk kids with their pants dragging that hang out at car meets'. I didn't know whether to crawl under the table in embarrassment, or punch him in the face for thinking that I'm one of those people.

It's such a shame that today's younger crowd has no concept of respect and the value of hard work. I can only hope that there are still enough decent parents in the world that we don't completely lose all the 'old school' morals.

Everyone, I never said it was ok in a parking lot. Notice how I said "turns out of the lot" IE NOT in the parking lot, or school zone, or neighborhood, community playground or w/e. I'm talking about on a 2 lane road that usually is what the best buys and othe shopping places we meet at.

thanks for understanding my rant guys. and yeah thankfully he got the marker off the paint. i guess the silver lining, if you will, is it was only a marker and not a key that went down the car...

The fact that this has turned into an Import vs Domestic thread just goes to show how much The Fast and the Furious really does run in your guy's blood, no matter what you say!

Like Bryan said, personally I'd rather not see anyone leave like a douche at all but going WOT in a 100whp civic and 500whp cobra are 2 different animals, because if something happens, the civic is going 40, at which point the cobra would probbably be at 80 and those are VERY different to handle, granted I'm sure the guy driving the Cobra can handle it well, it's still stupid regardless of what you drive. Why act a fool and chance wrecking your car, nobody cares about the slow POS cars that come and the cars that are fast, we know they're fast without having them leave like a bat out of hell.

It's sad that there dirtbags are giving the younger crowd as a whole a bad name. Some of us out there do appreciate a good, nicely modded car regardless of make. I would NEVER deface someone elses posessions, it's sad that my generation has come to that. Why can't people have respect, who do they think they are. I had soemone hit my car in the parking lot at school and keep going, its horrible to have to deal with things like that.

Also,i know what you mean when people look down at you being a "tuner." the first thing they assume is that i have a "ricey jap" car, but when they actually see my car they stop thinking that.

And this whole import/domestic thing is so out of hand. SO you like your types of cars and i like mine? Why bash eachother then? Why not respect each car for what it is?

But its no the ENTIRE younger crowd!!! god i totally agree with you.. but it takes one or two screwballs with $700 hoop-dees to give not only the younger guys bad names but the entire tuner scene

That's why I started using the term Automotive Enthusiast. It has less of a negative connotation.

Glad the car was able to be fixed. No matter what, when you get a group of people together for anything, something is bound to happen here and there.
