What happened with Mercedes, I haven't really been following the automotive news too much lately. Basically if it hasn't popped up on the front page of Autoblog I don't bother to look around for it. As for Toyota, I'm not too big of a fan of the majority of their vehicles outside of the ones you mentioned, plus Land Cruiser(my mom has the LX450, awesome truck off-road, just needs some more power), the second gen MR2, and the SC(not the 430 though), IS, and GS if you want to count the Lexus models. They make good cars, just not ones I'm particularly interested in. |

Who cares. At the end of the day we made Japan who they are today and they lend us tons of money to keep the machine running.

I was speaking of the UAW. They could certainly benefit greatly from the US Auto Industry improving. Don't forget, they are completely anti-Japanese when it comes to automobiles, even though they send their workers to the US based plants. The Unions were also suspected for the tremendous degradation in quality of Land Rover once they started getting passed from owner to owner (at one time, a Land Rover was an extremely reliable vehicle that could take a ton of abuse off the road. Now, the majority of the off-road adventures for Land Rovers consists of going up on a lift). Either way, like you said, it's simply a conspiracy theory.
And, I whole-heatedly agree that our litigious society has spun this completely out of control. |
