Radiator was $470 and my wheel bearing was $500. These are the only things that have broken on my car, but they are the most expensive things for no good reason.

-notchy 1-2, 2-3 gears with cold start.
-occassional weird idle (1st year production)
-"service required" light for no tpms sensors with new wheels
-frequent paranoia of curbing the volks, someone stepping on my jun side skirts when stepping out of the car, or destroying the jun front lip going up and down a driveway.
-the above fears make me take the train into Philly rather than drive and I go to Philly a lot, so its kind of inconvenient.

This is a great thread.

-My paint sux
-If you piss the car off, it will not boost until you apologize. Really
-There is a rattle in the back seat that I still cannot find...............fml
-This thing costs me close to 1K every month to own, operate, and modify
-The brembos spew more dust then a bench grinder
-No rear pass through

But to be honest, the second you are in the boost, none of that stuff matters. I spend 2 hours a day in this car, and I love every second of it.

I decided that even though I don't own my MSP anymore, after having it for six years, I have the right to bitch about it in retrospect.

It came out of the FACTORY with problems. Just to name a few -- a tune so rich I never actually saw a reading on my wideband, an exhaust that choked the **** out of the entire system, an unaligned rear sway bar that resulted in awful rear suspension noise, a wastegate actuator that would inevitably die but you'd never know when because the car didn't come with a boost gauge, an engine that was completely, inappropriately weak for boosted applications .. Thanks, Mazda.

I never worked on the car once -- NOT ONCE -- without something going wrong in the process.

It was produced in such a limited capacity that finding modifications for it was extremely difficult. Which made all the stock problems even more frustrating because I had no way to fix them.

People would constantly argue with me about what kind of car is was. They'd tell me that it was an EVO or WRX and not believe me when I said it wasn't. However, I think my genitals contributed significantly to that problem.

The car hated going into second gear. I'll never know why.

If it was below 40 degrees, getting the car started was like fighting with an angry moose.

It loved to have things fall off. Hoses. Clips. Bolts. I must have left a dump truck's worth of random parts on the road over those six years.

Everything rattled.

The CEL was it's favorite light. Felt like Christmas all year round, with that thing flashing at me every other day.

I could never drive the car hard without the fear of it exploding. Literally.

No matter what I fixed, the car would find a way to break it again.

Don't wanna go to off topic here but undo one engine mount, jack up engine, change plugs. Lower your engine put the nut back on the mount and repeat with the other side. I think that was the longest it's taken me because the first time I undid both and was a huge pain to get the mounts back in.

Well I have this real love hate relationship with my porsch 914-6. When it's working right I love the car. The motor just sounds sick as hell. The steering is incredibly sharp. The acceleration is amazing and will having you doing 140 mph in not time at all.

The transmission is going to drive me nuts though. I have just about given up driving it for the rest of the year because I just am so tired of dealing with it. I cannot get it into 1st and 2nd half the time. I have to start from 3rd gear.

Also the recaro seats it has right now are the worst. However it will cost me $1600 to get the right set for it.

Then it doesn't have power brakes. Another thing I can resolve with alot of money and fabrication. I don't know about you guys but power brakes just make me feel alot safer.

Then finally I would love to get another 100 hp out of the car. Which is totally doable. However once again it's gonna cost me 10 grand to do it if not more.

The solstice, well the biggest issue with that car is GM service. I am not gonna post again the nightmare they have put me thru but they fix one thing but damage everything around it. I took it in under warranty to have the battery replaced and they did over $2000 in damage to my car. The seats are not very comfortalbe but not much I can do about that really. Also the fit and finish is not very good. Still fin to drive.

The accord, well it does it's job. It gets people around like it's supposed to. My girlfriend wanted a 2 door and it's just the worst idea. Even she now realizes it was a bad idea to get a 2 door. No one can get in or out of it.

I'll add mine.

-It's old but that doesn't bother me to much
-Decided not to run the ac. The heat inside the car hasn't been unbearable but sucks when it rains and you wanna defrost.
-This car is getting to be to much for me to dd. I need to buy something else and turn this into a full track car not this half and half crap.

Ah the rookie mistake. Go crazy modding your daily driver til you don't want to drive it anymore. Been there and done that. LOL

When I split up with my girl about 5 years ago she took the celica and left me with the turbo civic I built for street mod. Was not the most pleasant car to drive every day in traffic.

I think we've all done that! It's what happened with my MSP and for the last year that I had it, no one (non-car people at least) wanted to ride in it because -- between the suspension and the exhaust and the vibration from the engine mounts -- it was too much for them to deal with. ****, I didn't even want to drive it because I knew doing so would just rub the latest problem with it in my face!
