Let's face it, no matter what president we have they are all idiots. The best few canidates are now gone, just like every other election. The guy is a great speaker, but what he stands for is not what I stand for. I want immigration to end, and our taxes going to support America, not 100 other contries. I am sick of seeing 30% of my income going to this governement which spends it horribly on garbage idea's. I could go on for days so I am just going to say .........

they have been saying we're going to "completely pull out of Iraq" for how long now? and how long have we been there? and how long did the first time last? And how much LESS did we spend that time.

We'll never be out of Iraq.

We have been there since the first mistake of invasion in 1990! 18 years in August! Older than some of you on this forum.

Though most of you probably didn't hear about it much, during the Clinton years we were flying bombing missions on almost a daily basis.

Its time for this puppy to end, and my biggest concern with a McCain ticket running on a continuance of Bush polices is that we will be in Iran before the end of the first year.

Make arguments about taxes/health care all you want. Wars cost exponentially more than any other service the government pays for. [Edit: not directed to DPan, but everyone in this post}

I agree 100% and I used to be the biggest McCain fan in the world. I thought he was honest and just an awesome person when he was willing to say what was on his mind without worrying what anyone said... than he sold himself out. And I am in fear of what he would do with Iran as well. I hope he is just saying the things he is now to get elected than he'll deviate from the path and do what he thinks is right. I do believe that if any Republican deserves the title of President though, its McCain.

I really respected him in 2000. And though I probably wouldn't have voted for him, at the very least I would have felt more comfortable with him as president over the last 8 years. I think if he had won the Republican nomination in 2000 we would be in much better shape today.

Right now, I don't like his pandering to republican hardliners, religious nuts, "freedom haters" (those people who are so scared of Islam and terrorists that they are willing to concede freedom for "security"), and warhawks . He is well known for his ability to work beyond party lines. If he was running on that platform, my vote decision would be a tough one
