The the fact that the cars are turbocharged and come with a significant amount of power from the factory and have competitively priced and redily available aftermarket parts. I don't know much about domestics, but $1500 spent on a WRX/STi/EVO seems like it would yeild more hp/dollar than if it was spent on a N/A domestic. Correct me if I am wrong.

Which I would take over an Evo or an WRX. It's got it's issues, (cost for modding) but overall it's a more enjoyable car. But it would be a tough call between that an a C5 Z06

it's the internet. take it with a grain of salt. whether or not i own a z06 isn't important. all that matters is that for $1500 your cobra would be running 10s.

If most conditions = a dig, yeah, I'll give you that. But most drivers don't have the balls to launch their AWD cars hard, I have beat WRX's and Evo's from the hole more than once. DSM guys are harder, they know the car will break soon anyway, so what the hell. But from a roll is not the AWD strong point, drivetrain loss FTL
