I'v raced a evo9 with minor bolt on's (exhaust, tune, boost controller) in my M3. And my M3 is pretty much stock (wheels, suspension, exhaust). From 0-80 the evo had me by 2 cars. After 80mph I just walked on by him.

Don't run 13s? A good driver in a 6MT can break into high high 12s. My friend Pete has a bone stock SMG that ran 13.0.

Here's a few examples of an M3 with someone who knows what the **** they are doing:

12.63s - Stock with pulleys (on street tires):

12.48s - Same guy with drag radials:

12.8s - Same guy, street tires, aftermarket muffler:

http://www.daftproductions.com/videos/m3_12-807.mpg

12.52s - You get the point:

http://www.daftproductions.com/video...520_107.96.mpg

And my favorite vid of them all (Scott's is supercharged):

Guy must not have known how to drive then,evo9's are geared great from 80-130 or so, unless it was an mr and they are geared pretty good up to 165..En evo9 with those mods will run on the highway with an M5 if it was done properly..Not doubting you though..

Damn man… Did I strike a nerve? I wasn’t trying to turn this into a slug fest.

I think you took what I said a little too seriously. For every video you pull I’m sure I can find 20 more with Evo 9s running the same times (stock.) I was responding to “ITSTOCK’s” comments about a stock M3 vs. a stock Evo. And I never said it was impossible for an M3 to run those types of times.

Perhaps I should rephrase; “I don’t see the same number of M3s running 13.0s (stock) like the Evo 9s.” As for your friend, props to him for a nice time. But every other video you posted was of M3s with some sort of aftermarket modification.

And as for aftermarket modifications of either car… I’ll leave that subject for another thread.

Back on topic - “olsookie” keep the M3.

I say keep the M.

Evo's are (dare I say it) me too cars and all over the place. But you definitly don't see as many M3s around.

Besides...Evos are apparently easy to flip.

With cams, tune and flash I ran away from M3's with my VIII. I had almost as much whp(321) as they had bhp(333). Not to mention the Evo is lighter.

70 Chevelle

I just turned 23 and bought an SUV after having an 95 eclipse gsx and a 91 firebird. I needed the room and found an SUV to be better for what I needed. Im also going through the application process for being a police officier. So I wanted to keep a low profile and stay out of trouble. IMO pick the car thats going to suit your life style the best. I dont know if this is your main car but thats how I look at it. Besides I have a 70 chevelle show car that I can drive around on weekends.
