She's a girl. Girls want ridiculous things. Besides, didn't your ending quote pretty much pertain to modding cars in general? Yet we still do it.

So....you would have spent $4k to $5k on a vinyl wrap versus a $500 plasti dip? If you're going to spend thousands of dollars on a wrap why wouldn't you just get your car painted? Unless of course you need some kind of custom picture or logo on your car. Plus, during removal, you can potentially damage your existing paint if removed incorrectly.

Plasti-dip is a cheap color change option that isn't supposed to look like a show quality paint job and is easily removable. I think you're missing the point.

Edit: Correction, you may be able to get your car wrapped for as cheap as $2500. That's still an insane difference in cost.

fyi you can get a 250 wrapped for under 2500 (quality vinyl, many have done it on clublexus).

Ugh, it's only $350-$450ish in vinyl to wrap a car if you do it yourself, same applies to materials for PlastiDip.

That wouldn't make you the average person that can buy a roll of vinyl and have at it!

Plasti dip all the way.....

Wrapping is so frustrating, I think I would end up hurting somebody if I had to wrap my car. I have only done little bits and that was enough for me. i think wrapping is a dark art and should be left to those who practice it. Plasti dip can be used by anyone with 2 hands, time and an ounce of talent. Like me

Sorry if it seemed like I didn't care about your opinion. I respect the fact that you would rather have a vinyl wrap rather then plasti-dipping. Personally I agree with you that a proper paint job or vinyling looks better but their in completely different ball parks. I was just pointing out that it's apples to oranges regarding prices a shop would charge you.

Now if we're talking about doing it on your own, which is what I'm assuming your talking about on club lexus, I don't doubt you could do it cheaper but I highly doubt most people would have the patience and skill to wrap a car correctly. Plasti-dipping on the other hand isn't nearly as difficult and the labor involved isn't nearly as bad.

If you're building a show car vinyl & paint are the way to go. If you've got a track car or DD that's going to get beat up.....plasti-dip is the beez neez.

I've never vinyl wrapped a car and as with most other people on the internet I've only read articles about it. Heck, I can't even recall ever seeing one in person. That said, people can barely install tint on cars.....vinyling a whole car seems like an impossible task for most people.

no hard feelings. no those were done by shops as well but yes if you do it yourself then it would be much cheaper, agreed.

Tint doesn't stretch, vinyl does. Cheaper tints are hard to apply and will rainbow/discolor if heated too much. It takes a ton of stretch on vinyl, even if printed, to discolor/white-out. The body of vehicles isn't bad, bumpers suck tho haha. Wrap vinyl is amazing. Needs pulled but not too much because the tension, if not clean and post heated properly, will lift on the edges.

shes a spoiled girly girl? They like pink.

I could have wrapped it yes but this is a easier option for quick turn around and quick color changes. Takes about 15 minutes to bring the car back to the original color (and a lot more user friendly for the customer to remove on their own) and can then start spraying a new one... or I can spray on top of it. Its just another alternative and a cheap option for people. Plus this product has many uses. I can spray a "clear bra" onto a car for about $100-150 for the customer and its plenty durable vs $400-500 for a vinyl clear bra. Just something else to give customers more options.

Have to remove it? I'd tell the cops to go pound sand. Tell em the Sublime Green that Dodge or yellows that a lot of companies use... or even white is too bright under certain lights.

This car we did not spray the jams yet. Had to get it done quickly for her to bring back to NJ. They will be done within the next week or so. When doing the jams youd do all your masking then spray them first. Let dry then spray the exterior.
