Instead of saying that, just tell us some things worse... I'm curious to know. I'm unedumacated...

And JPALM, he never said he was forcing anyone to donate that attends..

You do realize that there are things just as bad happening in America but no one cares enough to start a charity. You also realize that you cannot help anything in the "big" picture so thinking and acting locally is the best way to help.

I also said that I won't hold donations just a meet to raise awareness but apparently everyone already knows so this meet would be a waste of everyone's time, ya know.

I do know this, but this topic was about Africa so I figured I would touch on this, and I agree with you, we have to focus on the citizens here before we try to start helping other countries.

Fact related to Kony
"in the northern districts of Uganda, 30,000 children have been abducted in the past 20 some years"

These are startling facts, however when you compare that 30,000 children have been abducted in the past 20 years, that number seems quite insignificant when you compare it to all the other issues that are really going on over there. If 5500 children are dying each day that number multiplied by 20 years gives you something like 39,000,000 of kid that have died in the last 20 years, thats not even counting people that have died from AIDS/HIV/Malaria.


Although I feel like Charity is a great idea, I am not a believer in donating, One of the main reasons being that we have to get to the root of the problem, and its really in our government, how many trillions and trillions of dollars do you think the entire country pays in taxes in a yearly basis? Property tax, income tax, etc. Certainly these astronomical figures can be spent better to help the people in dire need in this country out, but people are too focused on donations without realizing that there is plenty of money already being involuntarily donated from your paychecks, your taxes, etc. We all have to wake up.


I'm not posting on this subject matter anymore because I feel like its kind of driving the thread off-topic.

Your not gonna make a real change because 90% of you are too damn lazy to participate in your own damn government, let alone that of one half a world away.

One last thing that was on my mind last night, how many brain washed children with AK47s do you think we will have to kill to get to Kony? How many of our young soldiers is it going to take to go into Uganda and have to shoot 12 year old kids leaving our young soldiers scared for life? Does 2 wrongs really make a right? Do you think capturing Kony will be as easy as donating some money and hoping he comes out peacefully to be trialed?

Some of these nonprofit organizations really know how to brainwash some of us living in the western world that are not thinking that in depth about things such as going into another country and putting evil people on trial. Do they expect us to believe its going to be as easy as showing up and saying America is here come on out before we start shooting?
