Like everyone else.. the fact that your ok is whats most important here.

Yea yea.. EVO... The RS may be a tad faster then the straight up IX and even the MR but for me, ABS brakes were more important. I want control if I am going fast and need to brake hard.

You have got to be kidding... I can not believe that with the damage inside the trunk and under the car etc.. Well if I were you I would trade it anyhow.
Do you not have the right to demand new parts?

I feel ya Karl. I was hoping mine would be totaled out but they fixed it all- though with all new parts (nothing reconditioned). I'm supposed to get it back wednesday.

People say when there is frame damage it'll never be the same ....I guess I'll find out. *crossing fingers*

If for the sake of argument I get the car back and it doesn't drive right 1. I'll go to war with the body shop to fix it right 2.Then I'll go trade it for an 06 Audi A3 wagon....love those little cars (2.5 V6 w/AWD) not nearly as fast as the STi but should do the job and be a bit more practical for what I need it. I'm just not ready to take the negative equity hit. I called to get my pay-off... $31,000 *yikes* (though I've only been paying on it for a year). KBB states a trade-in value of 23k-25k so I'm looking at at least 6k negative equity. On top of the 36k Audi it's going to be hella expen$ive. Maybe in the $700 a month range.

Alas, I'm hoping it's a fairy tale ending and I get it back and it's just like new. I know darn right that probably won't be the case but here's to hoping. If you guys/gals are interested I'll keep you posted to let you know what happens on wednesday when I get the STi back. UGh....just stressfull thinking about it.

Very interesting....I hope all turns out well. Glad to see they will replace with the STI bumper....I don't think there is even a cost difference between the two. Were the STI fog covers OK?
