May 31st 2013. Have been working without a contract since then. city needed an extension on the bidding process, then has been dragging their feet on the selection process.

That sucks big time. Hopefully it works out for you. My problem is a new management team that is clouded and doesn't realize this is a different area than where they came from. In the end it's going to kill our jobs. I have been with the company for over four years and have never been in any kind of trouble, hard worker, moved my family to another state to help the company and ended up losing money by doing it, but they don't care because they where not around for any of that. The new philosophy is we can get someone else, train them, and they start fresh. It's almost like they want to phase our area of the company out. I have until January for sure and if I get let go then so be it. It's just stressful thinking about it. Everyone keeps saying don't stress about it, because you can't control it, but it's hard to think I might have to start over.

My only saving grace this year is that with buying a house this month, it's given me the perfect excuse to go super cheap on christmas. But try telling that to the girlfriend lol

Morning folks.

So in my search for a new car/truck I've been through plenty of options. Newest on my list is the GMC Envoy Denali. Finding something with a stock dark leather interior is tougher than I thought. Explorers and expeditions dont offer it, and neither do excalades/yukons. So I'm looking at Navigators, Aviators, and newest to the list is the Envoy Denali.

Ya know, I haven't really considered one. My aunt has one, and I've driven it plenty of times. Comfy truck, and has a good amount of room.

Might wanna check Tahoe/suburban/avalanche. Sure it's the same as the GMC counter parts but they trim out slightly different. Word of caution on the envoy: airbags in the rear. They WILL go bad. And they're not cheap to fix. Along with a host of other things. But it's a solid ride.

Tahoe/Suburban do not offer dark gray/black leather interior. Ruled them out a while ago. Avalanche is not something im interested in, dont like the quasi quad cab pick up truck thing.

Air ride and its issues are something i'm very familiar with (had multiple bagged daily drivers)

Jim I don't know if it's up your alley or not (it is a smaller SUV) but we love our Lexus GX470. If you wanted something bigger you could go for the LX470. You can get them with darker interiors and they're yota's so they're not annoying and broken all the time. Ours has bags in the rear and they've been repeatedly useful. Also we can tow over 6500 pounds legally.

That it does....although my situation understandably isn't as bad as working, but I took off 2 weeks vacation from work so that I could close on my house and clean it up, paint, etc....before having to go back to work. Well, closing was delayed a week and half of my vacation was wasted. Not exactly a bad thing, but had I known i would have changed it a bit. Oh well....
