for 1st gun... if it were me. semi auto pistol. then you can expand to rifles.

There's nothing wrong with the ruger... You just don't want to get it and realize you want a handgun for protection etc.

If you're thinking pistol down the road, get that first.

Well the reason I chose the 10/22 was because all my friends shoot, and I thought it would be more fun to bring my own gun. Its cheap to buy, cheap to shoot, and I heard they are a lot of fun. Fun being relative of course. I also enjoy shooting the rifles over the handguns as well.

Honestly, i'm not really interested in gun's that much. Would just be like a part time hobby for me. A weekend or two type thing each month.

Hey guys, long time lurker and first time poster in this thread. Does any one have a glock front sight tool and the rear sight puller I can borrow? I can pay you back with free entrance to the range by me, some beer, a box of ammo or something. gracias

10/22 is cool, I just picked up a marlin 795, not as tacticool but a nail driver (I'm talking 10 shots in a nickel size hole at 50 yards) and not a single jame or failure in the 500 rounds I put through her (in one trip)... And I only have $125 invested with a scope!

Yep! Except for that takedown detent spring, it was a breeze. Didn't buy a single tool either! I just need to find somebody with a castle wrench to tighten down the receiver tube.

It's a secret outdoor private range (up to 100 yards after shooting outdoors at a nice range ill never shoot indoor again!)

I bet any local gun shop will let you borrow theirs, or tighten it down for you, it takes 2 seconds

to all my SR22 brethren, have any of you had an issue with front sight being off center? so far i have 300 rounds through it (cci mini-mags) and noticed that it sits too far to right, making all my groupings 3" to left at 5 yards. I’ve tried adjusting the windage on rear but it maxed out before groups got on center.
