That sucks Dan. Hopefully that's not the case.

I always hear this snapping noise around my knee caps. It's really bad actually. People say I shoudl get it looked at but I don't want surgery.

Yea surgery sucks. Actually the surgery is fine, you'll be passed the F out, it's the recovery that blows. I think I need to get back to the doctor for this though cuz it is quite painful when it happens, and it's getting more frequent.

I've never had surgery. Avoided it for my rotator cuffs and I'd probably need it for my legs. I'm iffy about those kinds of things.

I got surgery a few days after I wrecked my streetbike. My collarbone was broken, and my pinky. But I chose not to get the pinky operated on because then I wouldnt have any usable limbs lol. The surgery wasnt too bad, I remember a little bit after getting into the surgery and right before the put me out. Then woke up and ate a little bit still on the pain killers. Then I woke up at 3 AM with zero pain medication in my system. It took the hospital an hour to get me on morphine, which was complete bull****. Their excuse was "we'd have to call and wake the doctor to get permission" and by that point I was flipping the fck out because it was 45 minutes into being awake after they just cut me open and put a 6" plate on my collarbone and screwed it fast.

All in all, probably depends on the hospital. Recovery sucks if you are the type to not like having to depend on other people...like me.

Yea they probably fondled me, my surgeon was a hot chick though so it's ok. As long as they enjoyed themselves with my junk.

EDIT: Red94, lol at our avatars being opposites.

why do you have to get the screws taken out? They told me the only way I would need them out is if it hurts, other then that they'll be in there forever.

Surgery is definitely not a fun thing. I am actually really surprised and thankful my wrist is still functional, because when I saw the first x-ray after my accident, the carpal bones holding it were all over the place.

Ouch. I always hate hearing stories like that because you don't really think of something like that happening to you, but it can happen while doing anything. You could fall the wrong way by walking and break a leg.

more of a preference right now. they dont hurt but i can still physically feel them(like if i run my fingers over it they feel like slight bumps under the skin) since there isnt much muscle in that part of your leg to cover it up and i just dont like it. and to avoid any type of pain down the road. who knows what health care might be like a couple years from now. right now its zero cost to me so i might as well.

My old doctor told me that I should get the screws removed from my arm. I figure that I will just wait till they start giving me problems and then get them removed.

I would do it now, personally. Much easier to recover and heal from things like that now as opposed to when your older. Thankfully I don't have any metal in my body. (That I didn't intentionally put there anyways)

a girl i knew in Louisiana slipped on a dirtbike, it went WOT, flew off a jump and she stayed on it. She impacted the ground so hard it broke her back, pelvis, other ****, and paralysed her from the waist down.

she's 26, has 2 kids, and is beautiful. one of those sweet southern girls that LOVES cars and going fast.

she was sitting in her B/F's car and told me she was paralysed and i was like "yeah, OK, stop bull****ting me and get out of the car". her B/F popped the trunk, got out her walker, and helped lift her out of the car.

Crazy **** happens every day.

she went from no movement to moving her feel a LITTLE, to now kinda standing and almost takes a step now. she is a fighter but prolly will be using a walker for a LONG time if not forever. trajedy.

Well the thing is, the surgeon who put my arm together said I don't need to worry about the screws. However, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is basically a vegetable now, so another doctor said he usually advises people to get them removed.
