Lately i have been trying to improve myself in the field of photography. A well known photographer had once said that you cannot be a great photographer until you know those who came before you and study what made them great.

I have always admired Ansel Adams, mostly because, even though he shot most of his work in black and white, they made you feel as though you were seeing in color. This was because of his incredible ability to wrangle light and shadows and make them the main player in the photograph.

As an amateur photographer, i pride myself on trying to engage my viewers, bringing them into my world and make them feel as though they were standing there with me, and the biggest challenge, for me personally, is to do this in black and white.

i can only ever dream of attaining half of the skill of Ansel Adams, but i can certainly become a better photographer by taking a lessons from the work he shot over his illustrious career.
