None of that will happen because it would essentially be voiding the 2nd Amendment, which simply can't happen.

i just read this posted from the NRA.....
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...-gun-grabbers/

i dont think its gonna happen with 80 million gun owners here and so many people not willing to lose our constitution and amendments & rights easily, but i think they might try. technically they have tried, there was just never a US president on board. all he need is to do is have the opportunity to replace one person on the supreme court and it our country will no longer have the gun vote. its never been this close, and Obama has put 2 horrible women in there that are huge anti gun, the votes have been 5-4 in pro gun favor. people are chosen in by the president and don't ever leave either. if one needs to be replaced in the next 4 years it wont be good.

I love how paranoid gun owners get when there's even a hint of gun control being whispered.

You know whats going to happen? ****all. Nothing. Nada. Guns as a source of violence doesn't have causal effect from their outright existence, its a social issue with scope varying depending on geographic location/social status... and the president knows that. Thats why **** ain't gonna change for people that aren't felons and own their guns legally. Unless your getting upset that you can't buy that full auto weapon you "need"... then that's your problem. I'll stick with my 1911, all I need.

No.

First of all, there is no "registration" of any guns in PA whatsoever. The PA State Police keep a record of new gun sales, but not a registration. According to the PA Uniform Firearms Act it's actually illegal to keep a registry of firearms:

Quote:
§ 6111.4. Registration of firearms.

Notwithstanding any section of this chapter to the contrary, nothing in this chapter shall be construed to allow any government or law enforcement agency or any agent thereof to create, maintain or operate any registry of firearm ownership within this Commonwealth. For the purposes of this section only, the term "firearm" shall include any weapon that is designed to or may readily be converted to expel any projectile by the action of an explosive or the frame or receiver of any such weapon.

(June 13, 1995, 1st Sp.Sess., P.L.1024, No.17, eff. 120 days)
Somehow the PA Supreme court ruled that the State Police database was legal, which is pretty messed up. Supposedly, it's legal because it's based off of new gun sales data only and is incomplete. Anti-gun groups talk about "loopholes" allowing criminals to get guns... hah, well there's a nice loophole that the Govt. uses to get around the law themselves. Surprising, right?

As for transferring ownership of firearms - handguns must be transferred through an FFL (gun shop), but even then it's not registered to any specific individual. Rifles and shotguns may be bought and sold and transferred between individuals without any paperwork or third party involvement at all. When you buy new rifles or shotguns though there are papers to fill out and a PICS background check.

Hopefully that helps.

Short barrel rifle (SBR) fall under NFA (nations firearms act) controlled by the ATF. and yes they require a $200 tax stamp, about 6 month wait, and if its not under a trust you need passport style photos, finger prints, and a sign off by yiur CLEO. Machine guns (Full auto) and Suppressors fall under NFA as well

Yes, you can turn a AR, AK, HK....ect pistol by adding a stock or rifle by cutting or replacing the barrel into a SBR. They will all require the full NFA process and stamp. See details below.....

Short-barreled rifle (SBR) is a legal designation in the United States, referring to a shoulder-fired, rifled firearm with a barrel length of less than 16 inches (40.6 cm) or overall length of less than 26 inches (66.0 cm). In the United States, an SBR is an item regulated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) as an NFA firearm. In the absence of local laws prohibiting ownership, American civilians may own an SBR provided it is registered with the BATFE, and a $200 tax is paid prior to taking possession of or creating the firearm.

Just picked up another gun this past weekend. As usual I went into Targetmaster to glance around, and ended up leaving with a Remington 770 w/scope. Its a gorgeous weapon, but with a .270 round I have no idea where I can possibly shoot this without risking the lives of other people lol. Anyone have a nice huge plot of land somewhere with 100+ yards I can shoot? :D
