i'm not too thrilled with the 3.5? fronts though lol... i'm hoping to run 6" up front and 8" in the back.

though, i really don't mind this car at all.
http://image.hotrod.com/f/9879337/hr...g+drag_car.jpg

i may look into a similar set up w/ some 5 spokes rears and 5 spokes up front. it may be tough to come up with something that looks good w/ the draglites in the back

These are the wheels I want to run on my car. Sadly, they are hard to find.

speaking of big tires...my dad kinda has a problem.....

LOL

Sumitomo 315's for driving, BFG KD 315's for car shows, cornering. and MT 315 for the track.

and that's the rear sets. he has at LEAST two sets for the front with sumitomo's and KD's on them.

scape... i'd research more and set a plan before buying anything. seems very strange for someone to be 50/50 on whether they want to go full on road race or full on drag... 2 totally different things there. and hopefully it will have 0 to do with looks.

when you run slicks you want skinnies up front, for your safety as well as for the weight savings. also if you dont have a fair amount of seat time drag racing then jumping right onto slicks could be dangerous... the car sways a lot on those soft tires and is more difficult to control, especially to those who are inexperienced. i'm holding off for the time being for this reason and just gonna go run street tires and be one of those 12 second Supras until i have some seat time.

i'm def weighing my options and doing research. i like both forms of racing, and either one would be a semi-competitive past time. ie: i'd like to be able to compete in either one... but neither would become something serious that i end up spending 10's of thousands of dollars to maintain. i guess more of a weekend warrior type of thing with a chance of placing every so often. but more to have fun and get to actually use the car for what it was built to do.

i don't think there is anything wrong with considering looks when taking into account which motorsport i want to focus building the car for. lets be honest, its going to be mediocre at either one b/c it isn't getting full blown built for either one because it'll remain a daily driven vehicle. so since it'll be daily driven and not a dedicated track car, its gotta look good.

i'd say a good portion of the people on this site consider looks to be of as equal importance to how the vehicle performs. while i want the car to perform, i need to consider how it will look as well.

if i run all draglites i'll put at least 15x6's up front. i'm not running around on skinnies. and for the back i'll be using drag radials. its going to be a street legal car... it has to be. I'm certainly not against leaving off the race tires except when i take it to the track. i'm not giving up my stock rims/tires.
