I have a weird attachment to cars, I cannot let go of any of my cars. I've already dumped all my money into both and love both to death.

car is a car to me. maybe that will change when i have a bit more of a respectable one. but with most of my posessions...i simply see them as just that. an object. i know i have the photos, memories or stories. thats enough for me.

Ever since I was little my parents made me earn everything I have and that made me appreciate everything I have. All the things I have I have earned one way or another, so I appreciate them and view them more than just an object or just a car.

i have learned to have little or no attachment to cars. i like them when i i am driving but when i grow tired of them you move into something else. in the end its just an object.

oh yea, same here. i have never had much handed to me ever. I appreciate them. i dont crash them, run home and ask for another. id just get laughed at. then beat up. hahah I work on them, i learn everything i can about them...but i get bored and want a new one. But, like i said, ive never owned a car that was truely worth a pretty penny. Maybe that will change when i own sleepers hatch. haha

I get attached to cars once I start working on them. I have disassembled and rebuilt my Honda which is why it is so reliable at 20 years of age, going onto 21 in a week. The BMW I became attached because it is my first BMW and I just got done swapping it, so no way is it going anywhere.

Neither of my cars were bought by me, however, I have saved my parents thousands in tuition for school. My Honda was a pass down, and my dad bought me the BMW. I did, however, use my money to fix both.

I understand why you would get attached to both of your cars. Being so hands on with both of them creates a certain attachment. I am not sure if i will ever understand it because i thought of car that doesnt run as a problem versus having the pleasure of building it in order to run.

There is definitely a special feeling you get after swapping a car or doing something major on it. You drive it and know you did the work, and you take pride in it. Others around you don't notice this, but its just a feeling inside that you get.

When you do your own work, you also learn all the weaknesses of a car. A lot of my friends try to push me to do stupid **** in my car, but I always reject those ideas as I know what my car can take and cannot even though they always say " it will be fine."

i am jealous that i cant get feeling. i am more attached to what each individual auto is. for instance, a car with awd.....how does it handle in the rain, snow, etc.... or how does it feel to drive a big v-8 versus a turbo 4. i like that aspect of cars.

Pick up a project car and a tool set and get to work! But wrenching on cars is not for everyone. I enjoy it because I enjoy driving my cars.

i am not patient enough to do that and right now i don't have a house with a garage. i know enough about cars to be able to know what a mechanic is doing and they i am not getting ripped off. but trying to do the work myself scares me. getting stuck while trying to install something would drive me crazy.

I know what you mean. Half way through my swap I sat down and asked myself what the hell have I done with this car.
