Well, Photoshop is often a crutch for people who don't shoot right to begin with. I admit I did it at first for a while, but if you shoot well, most things should not need much editing. I know exactly what you mean. Like i said, i use lightroom more so than photoshop now. Regardless, same effects are achieved. I hardly edit my work anymore since i feel that i have learned how to achieve the photo without relying on a "crutch." Though, i do find myself needing to tilt my photos to get them straight...i still find myself botching that :\. The most work i do to my photo is bumping contrast, vinuette (sp?), and maybe saturation if the photo calls for it. Occasionally i use the spot correction or dust correction for certain photos

If you want to buy many parts, buy a helicopter. If you want to spend more time in the air and having fun, then buy a plane.

yeah, i've gotten a whole lot better about the whole under-over exposed part now. i mainly used it now for color corrections, or if i want to get a little "artsy" with the pics i take.

and, you got a new tattoo?

you know, my cousin asked me that about some of my photo's i've taken at car shows. he asked "do you like that under exposed look?"

yes. i know you hate it, but i underexpose everything. Some people (like you :p) hate it. Others understand its my "style."

I know how to properly expose an image when its needed, for example, when shooting for a client in regards to an ad of somesort. If im shooting to emphasize my own personality and technique, it will be more likely underexposed. If i show a series of properly exposed photos and one is underexposed its wrong. If my statement in regards to my series does not mention heavy contrast or anything relating to that, than an underexposed photo is wrong.
