man, i need a decent macro lens. neither of my lens are good for close up shots. was looking at this:

and looking at this one for portraits and hopefully some day model shoots:

Yeah same here I really want a Macro lens for some close up shots. I am going to have to look into some.

$1,600 for a 50mm?!? i understand its a f/1.2 but id put that into a telephoto lens if it were me, but jmo

yeah, but, i don't see myself needing that just yet. but, someday i'll be getting a nice telephoto lens

heres a few of my macro shots. all shot with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 i def. recomend that lense. i love it.

i enjoy my macro shots, but id much rather have a wide angle or very fast lens. i was alllll about telephoto until i realized, the only time that lens is truely versatile is when you buy the 1500 dollar ones that actually have an f stop larger than f4

yeah, i love my wide angle lens. i use that the most right now.

this was using my wide angle at 15mm, at f/stop - 3.5

i want. I think my next lens will be the 50mm nikkor. its an f1.8 and only 150 bucks or something like that. fast, crisp lens

^^ if you want, you can try mine out before you buy. you can usually get them used for around $85-100, and new $125 on amazon.

may have to take you up on that. theres a chance ill be shooting with a kid tonight that has one, so hopefully i can try it out sooner than later because, from what ive seen shot with it, lens looks pretty damn good

A couple I took yesterday for my Droid Incredible review - I really need to get a proper flash setup. I'm finding that I don't really need a macro lens for these type of shots

you probably already know this since your into macro, but if you grab the 50 1.8, you can use the $9 reversal ring and mount the lens backwards for some pretty cool macro shots. your DOF is small, but you can get so close to your subject. as long as its not a spider like that^

haha yea i know. i stack lenses now, and was looking to get that so i can flip my 18-55 lens. i didnt one week, then ended up forgetting all about it. ill be doing that this week. haha
