The E30 is nice, but you can get one for a lot less and swap in an S50/52 and enjoy the car more than with an M20. As for the E36, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. I would, however, talk down on the price. With 165k miles on it, and not stating whether or not the car had its proper maintenance, I would be a little skeptical about buying it.
