I doubt it will have an IRS. The 03/04's were the only ones that came with an IRS. The current Shelbys have a solid even, so I dount they would put in an IRS in one....I haven't heard any mention if it.

worth a shot, but I'd piss myself if that was the case. Removing the rear seats might actually suck for the GT with even less weight in the rear to plant the rubber, not to mention weight dist. The Vettes have the trans. mounted on the rear and I'm sure if that wasn't the case I wouldn't have the same level of performance I do now. I've ripped an Evo IX with meth. off the line and left him being able to launch properly and part of that I chalk up to rear weight. ... Would love to see some more domestic competition and the Mustang would be a great choice

I don't know how well it would sell. The more recent 2 seat V8 thunderbirds didn't sell well, but they were more oriented to luxury than performance.

That's a sweet looking Corvette. Don't think I've ever seen a C5 with the C5R body before that is sick. Beating a Evo w/ meth off the line is $$.

Was all this info just released? I would be pissed if I had bought a 2010 Mustang, than a few months later a new one with 100 more HP came out.

its been relatively well known within the mustang community since the 2010 came out. i never saw the point to buying the 2010 at all.

That's what I was saying. Reminds me of when Mazda came out with alcantara seats and trim literally a few weeks after I bought my car new...08.5 model. I was furious. Only thing you can do about it is research really well before you buy...but I have a feeling when the 2010 stang was released nobody knew about the 5.0 that was comming...

its been rumored for a while now. i knew about the new 5.0 well in advance of purchasing my 2010 gt.

i wanted a new car, i wanted a 2010 mustang gt. i was unwilling to wait for the dealership markups to disappear or dealing with potential warranty issues with a new drive train.

after much consideration before even taking a test drive, i decided i would stick with the old tried and true 4.6 3v. yeah... a 5.0 would be nice... but i can wait 3-4 years and decide then whether i want to really do something with the drivetrain, or trade in for the 5 liter.

i'm very happy with my purchase and don't regret it at all. after all, it is the first run of the new exterior and interior and has a proven and reliable drivetrain up to right around 500whp (with upgrading the fuel system). so far, 315bhp has been plenty for the street... though, i'm looking into nitrous early in the year and breaking 400whp

^Nice man, you have any mods yet perhaps? I like the new design a lot. It would be a tough choice between that and a Camaro SS.

You can't even compare a two seat Mustang to that hideous mistake of a car Ford made. That thing was BUTT!

i didn't get a chance to test drive the camaro. i wanted to. but at the end of the day, i am a ford and mustang enthusiast before a chevy and camaro enthusiast. I did get a chance to sit in one however, and i didn't like it at all. you sit too low and you've got blind spots everywhere.

as far as planned mods... the usual things every mustang owners plans for. tuner, exhaust from the headers back. but i also want to do coilovers. right now the suspension is ok... but the front feels floaty, and obviously it nose dives through quick turns and braking. within the next couple months i'll be saving up for the tuner and nitrous, then working on the other stuff. eventually i'll have to consider whether i'm going to build a motor for it w/ a supercharger, or swap in the 5.0 and trans. but that is 3-4 years down the road

i kinda like the thunderbird... though, i'd like it more with the new 2011 mustang drivetrain ;)

i couldn't imagine a two seat factory mustang... it never came that way and it never should. (unless its going to be one of those stupid super expensive limited edition factory race cars)

i do however intend on removing the rear seats and putting in a mount for a full size spare... something that has stuck in my mind since seeing it in a picture of an old gt350 track car

I remember seeing info on the MSRP of the 2011 Mustang GT and it wasn't much higher than a simillarly equipped 2010 model.

I can imagine the 2010 models will be really cheap and have lots of rebates and incentives this fall. The V6 will be a little above 300 HP and have a 6 speed transmission and the GT will also come standard with a 6 speed transmission.

No the V6 won't be as fast as the 2005-2010 GT, but it won't be slow either. It should have similar acceleration as a V6 Genesis since it has similar power and gearing.

Right....FORD obviously did this to keep the Camaro V6 from siphoning off of the Ford V6.

Ford had no problem selling plenty of V6 mustangs even after the new V6 Camaro came out. Its the same way that Mustang sales didn't drop much after the V8 Camaros went on sale.

Some new Camaro owners say that the only reason Ford decided to put a new V8 in the Mustang is because of the new Camaro, but the 5.0 V8 has been in development for over two years, long before the new Camaro was available. One of the Ford engineers said that the new 5.0 V8 took 2 years to develop and that was one of their quickets new engine development projects so far. The camaro's offical specs weren't released until after the new 5.0 was in development for a while.
