Here is a pic to get good idea the size of the garage I have to work with. Plus the workshop area behind the wall.

I have lots of plans for the garage but I don't see them ever happening any time soon. would like to add a nice sized loft area for tv chairs and frig.

Here is a pic from my phone showing the opening we putting in wall between living room and kitchen. Gonna frame it out tomorrow. Also going to make the hole a little lower like 6 inches or so.

thanks man. yea its coming along great. this week the electrician is coming to upgrade the service to 200amp, plus add a whole bunch of recessed lights and upgrade quite a bit of wiring/outlets/switches, along with adding some new outlets. thank god he is a family friend or else we'd be shelling out 6k.. once all the electrical is done we can start rocking the place, jan 14 the front window comes in so hopefully that weekend its not raining/snowing so i can rip out the old and install new one. front door should be switched out this coming weekend. still have to run my cat5 and speaker wires to all the rooms. have better pics this week.

well all the drywall is up and tape and spackle has begun. so of course when me and the wife cleaned up last nite we both looked at the fireplace and thought that the stone wall is a bit big.. so we came up with an idea of framing it out and drywall it. so i did a real quick ms paint edit to get an idea of what we want. that pic is the last one.

im also thinking that im gonna do crown molding, figure why rush into the house when we have a place to live. just do all the things that we can possibly do now. of course id love to redo the whole kitchen now but thats gonna cost too much right now. we also thinking about changing up the closets in our bedroom and our daughters. we would take her closet and add it to ours since its the same wall. then just build out a closet in her room, her room is so big anyway so she wont lose too much.
