eitherway this ndubz kid sucks at modding.
This is where im at. If u notice in my post, i said it chirps in the dry and spins in the wet or on gravel. either way like i said earlier. I want the car to be fast, but I dont want it to be overkill. I want to have fun on these twisty roads without feeling like i am holding a wild dog on a leash. It needs to stay fun, I dont wan to have to work to keep the car down. you see what I mean?

And gary, ya Im the one who bought ur floor mats. I have about half of the stuff u told me to get already. And I know what needs to be done to the car for a proper setup. I researched it alot. Im just looking at what options I have here. Cuz the dominator would be great, but its just sitting on a shelf and will be for a while. seems kind of a waste, and the more i think about it, i dont know if i really want that setup. Im just kinda between things right now. looking for advice, and theres been many good posts here.

I have front and rear sways and an ACT street clutch already, and I put in a Perrin TMIC this summer. I do want to go ewg with whatever move i wind up making. but i need to make that decision before I get the fuel system stuff and whatnot. like ive been saying, i wont doing any more turbo stuff until the summer. the decision I need to make soon is weather to sell the dom 3 or weather to stick it out and have it installed.

Like I said guys, Im really just unsure about alot right now. And id like to stress that IM NOT RUSHING ANY OF THIS. the only thing i would do soon is to sell my turbo. everything else will at least wait till spring. I just want so solid advice from all of u knowledgeable people who've built cars and have seen more than I have. this is a forum. Thats what it is for.

Im open to new ideas too, so if u have an idea for a good setup throw it out there. cuz im at a point now where i'll look into whatever.

I think a lot of people approach car modding from the wrong mindset. This is sort of another way of explaining what some people have already mentioned.
Think of a pyramid. You don't build from the top down. You build from the bottom up. Its the only reliable, proven way. The same theory holds true for cars. Start with a good foundation. Then that very last brick, your goal, the one you've been thinking about since day one, will fit perfectly on top. Every single modification you do should be to support that very last piece. Every thing you add on that car should have a purpose. It should be in some way related to your goal. Stick with that and I think you will be happy in the end. If your goal is HP. That is perhaps the most challenging and time consuming. EVERYTHING from engine longevity to braking is associated.

Jesus. I've had way too much NyQuil today.

enjoy your car the way it is and stop modding it until you have a definite goal in mind. you're acting like a teenage girl with this car. make a decision and stick with it.

you keep asking the same basic question though. which turbo to run. everyone here has explained their perspective on that over and over, but the only answer is going to be the one you want to hear at the moment. you gotta accept that either you make big power OR you have no lag. there is no real in between. decide what you want. autox car or drag car. track car or dyno queen. daily driver or weekend toy. narrow that down before asking the same questions coated differently.

and i'm glad you're happy with that tmic, i got to check out some of the other options on the market and the perrin is one of the better ones.

Well, for now its my DD, and it will be probly for a couple more years. then it would wind up as weekend toy status most likely with some track time here and there.

regarding use, well, I want to keep it a street car, but once its not my DD, i'll be willing to do some harder suspension mods like coilovers and braces etc. I deff want to keep it fun on those twisty roads through the woods. I may drag the car just to see what it runs, but its not my primary concern. Id probly try my hand at autocross. And maybe some legit road course stuff too. When it gets to the point of doing legit events at legit road courses, id like to do a cosworth motor cuz the stock motor should be well into the 100k range by then.

But for now lets concentrate on it being my DD, and in a few years my toy that will be tracked on some occasions.

as for the dyno queen, ive never given a ****. I cant see me ever needing more than 450whp (even on the track). and I dont think Id ever really go larger than a 30R, rotated or not. And I do plan on building the motor at some point after I do whatever turbo im going to do if need be.

So you have started to narrow it down, that's good. what my recommendation to you would be is to keep the stock turbo setup while its your DD since an upgraded turbo on that stock block is a ticking time bomb.

Sell the Dom3 and get onto an actual track, do some HPDE work and work on the nut behind the wheel before you get under the hood any more.

If HPDE is too steep an entry price, start doing autocrosses. Not only will you have PLENTY of power for most street tire classes, you'll also learn what it is the car actually needs, instead of going through a parts wish list dreamed up by ads on the internet.

Once its no longer your primary source of transportation, go to town. Otherwise you will be stuck with large repair bills and a skateboard to get around.

So you can either risk it all on a haphazard budget turbo upgrade setup that you'll ultimately just want more from and blow the motor, or you can spend time enjoying your car and becoming a better driver that can maximize the cars untapped potential (and i can guarantee you there is a lot more left in it than what you believe you've found so far).

Do it right once.
