i was at the forza3 premier last month and they let us drive it on both a simulator thingy and the normal hand held controllers. i drove the v10 R8 around somesort of track and i really liked it. this comes with an unbiased opinion of forza vs gt bc imo who gives a **** they are just video games BUT the forza3 game did drive pretty good. what i was most impressed with was the interaction between you and the computer cars. most games, the computer cars run the same racing line and never move unless you really do something to budge them. in this game, they will dive into a turn to get past you, they will cut you off when you try to pass, and you can scare them into a mistake by riding up on them and psyching them out. that really made it fun and FEEL more real to me like door to door racing. granted, its hard to get a feel for a car game when you have techno blared in your ear at 110db and half naked skanks are walkin around...

i took pics of some of the cars that they parked around the TVs if anyone is interested....
porsche gt2, ferrari california, as yet to be released audi r8 v10, nsx, and some others

they provided us all demo versions of the game, which means we had 10 cars and 3 tracks to choose from. so obviously i dont know about what tracks and cars will be in it but i asked about how many REAL tracks they had and the response was not to my liking. they focused heavily on designing their own tracks and blah blah blah so i was bummed but i KNOW that circuit de la sarthe is in it so im happy for that at least.

as for the graphics, i wasnt BLOWN AWAY but its decent enough for me to keep playing it. keep in mind, nfs tries their hand at real racing this fall too, and the visuals on that game especially the cockpit views are very pretty.

i will buy forza3 no doubt, but i usually buy most racing games that come out...

i got the limited collectors edition paid off already. like i said before i cant wait till the 27th. but also, TOMORROW THE DEMO IS OUT YAY!!!!!! cant wait to drive the Costa Di Amalfi, and Kaido!!!

Impressions:

Polish is very high on this demo. They look the time to even further streamline the menu. The cockpit view isn't as cool as NFS Shift, but it is still a good cockpit view. The handling of the cars is a lot more "dumbed down" I want to say for the cars. I raced the R8 and the Mini and they both handled like I expected them to, but the difference in handling wasn't as great as I thought it would be specially when the cooper is such a smaller car compared to the R8. I like the racing physics in NFS Shift more. But, if this demo is any indication to the full game I do believe Forza 3 will be a lot more accessible to beginners and people who complained about NFS Shift wanting to "slide everywhere". Overall, I'm really excited now for this game because A) I know a lot more of yous will be playing it and B) Greater selection of cars and better parts to buy and tune compared to Shift.

Not what I expected at all. The cars all feel really heavy and unresponsive, full lock from in-cabin view is still not realistic (1/4 of a turn and its at full lock), and damage is a bit goofy...I hit a wall with an audi r8 head-on and got engine damage (its a mid-engined car)...

Do you agree with my description that the game leans a little to the "dummy proof" side?
