Grow up smokey.
That's why voters need to be 18, which I still think may be a little too early for most.

That is a big part of it, but there's much more to it than that. A friend of mine is scheduled to be deployed at the end of the month. I think it'll be a little while until we start seeing a difference.

agreed. listening to the parade of morons mocking and booing him this afternoon made this the first time in my life i have ever been ashamed to be an american and seriously question what made me donate eight years of my life to the freedom of a bunch of ungrateful mindless ****s

i do know....... my little brother was deployed the friday before last to iraq. we had a long talk about why he is there. he is currently serving his country becuase of what i thought him about paying his dues to have the freedom that lots of young adults of his age take advantage of. he was nervous, i tried to be strong for him while i gave him words of encouragement. eventually i broke down with him and prayed for his safe return. its hard to know i cant protect my little brother any more. but i leave it in the hands of god and his fellow soldiers.

so here is my little brother Jose Luis Ortega. getting it done, so when people make fun and or redicue the last idiot and the new idiot that we voted in for president. There actions puts my little brother and thousands of little brothers and sisters life at risk. so you can buy a new turbo and hang out on the net all day. there are several members that have served or gonna serve in this forum. to you i tip my hat in respect.

by the way dave welcome back havent seeing you post in a while.

Not really... marijuana is not ever involved in any reasoning why the world hates us. They did decriminalize it in Amsterdam...

Let's see what Barack can do. He has already admitted that pulling out of Iraq will take time, he admitted that the economy will require some form of 'self recovery'. Maybe he isn't a complete a$$. I am happy to see Bush go down the road, but sad that he won't get credit for the good that he did. The reasons for our trip to Iraq might not be good, but the outcome will be great. Anyone remember that guy Saddam??? He is dead now...remember? I would like to thank G.W. and our troops for that.

Now, everyone pull out your copy of the constitution, read it, and live it.

That is a problem. I didn't say G.W. was a great man. I just think he doesn't get enough credit. Bin Laden will turn up.

Whom we helped to put into power in the 1st place. Just add his name to the long list (Osama being one of them) of people we then took out because they no longer wanted to play ball with us. The best thing Obama could do is get out of middle eastern politics. But we all know that will never happen.

Oh and quote from someone who is deployed in Afghan at the moment on a another car forum Im on.
Quote:
I only voted for him because one of his ideas was to pull troops out of the middle east and now his stupid ass is sending 30,000 troops to afghanistan and pulling existing troops out of iraq to send to afghanistan. Oh and he wants to extend deployments to 18mos instead of 12-15mos because he doesnt think its fair that National Guard and Reservists do 18 and active duty only does a year....maybe thats because we work a trillion times harder than the weekend warrior bitches do?
At the end of the day he is just a politician who said what he needed to say to win the election. nothing more nothing less.

thank you, and i appreciate your brother's service. my complaint still stands though, people who have no conection to the fight shouldnt be complaining about it. especially since most of them seem to be the exact kind of bleeding hearts that should appreciate the good we've done there.

Im sorry, i have to take issue with this. Every tax paying american is directly connected. Just cuz ppl arent over there fighting, doesnt mean they arent involved. Tax payers buy all the weapons. without them there is no money. Without money there is no power. And without power the world would be very different to say the least. We are all involved. make no mistake of it. Soldiers do give the most of anyone though and for that u all get my infinite respect.

ANNNNNND THERE IT IS FOLKS... finally... someone who actually knows more than what they've absorbed off tv the last 8 years. The Reagan administration developed an alliance with IRAQ over concern with Iran/Afganistan/Russia. We FED Saddam with the money, weapons, and technology he in turn used against us in this 'war'. We ACTIVELY shared military intellegence with Saddams armies during that time period as well as gave them chemicals they later turned into biological warfare. So....lets recap... we fought a war to capture a deadly criminal that WE HELPED CREATE. Now that that criminal, our Frankenstein if you will, is dead... yet we remain there? These poor kids are over there dying, not for 'protecting our freedoms', but as custodians to clean up the mess of a failed alliance, created decates prior. I HONOR those kids for WANTING to protect our shores....but I HATE our goverment for sending them to Iraq under ****ing false pretenses.
