i'll tell you what else is going on at this stretch of highway to hell which is totally AWESOME!!! an effin speed trap. 88 in construction zone gets you a nice raping by local law enforcement. props though to the dude that got me. the statie actually checked out the ride and said he just got himself a wrx he was gonna tune up. so instead of getting automatic lisence suspension i landed a ticket for a c-note. i'll take that along with "my lucky day" receipt. still that road blows!

the only way i would not be complaining is if they also turn that stretch of the road into the autobahn with same lack of speed enforcement. you don't hear about record death tolls in germany. i think either 202 or the rt 100 through nj section of turnpike would be excellent at 100mph.

i drive this stretch of road quite often for work. this has been the slowest road improvement that i have seen in PA for a while. They did the 76 KOP to Philly stretch faster than the 100 stretch. I couldnt figure out what i was seeing the other day. After putting the new pavement down they were out there cutting into it every 25-30 feet or so. Not sure what benefit that has other then to have the road crumble faster.

They're called expansion joints. Concrete is under the blacktop. Concrete moves with temp a lot more than blacktop. If it didn't have any room to expand/contract it would crumble.

Also, see this for more info:

I was on 100 yesterday and the road felt worse than it was before. Just seemed so bumpy and what not. I think they are repaving some parts that don't need to be bothered with.
