Josh, if crankwalk doesn't happen, it wouldn't be a stigma.

your quite right.. the bs associated with "crack walk" is bs.

it happens.. and its alot more likly to happen with a 7 bolt then a 6 bolt.. but then again any motor can crank walk... dsms are just more prone to it.

if he got a dsm he qould be quite happy with it... you jsut have to keep up with these cars.. its not like a honda where u beat on it every day and not have to change the oil.. u ahv to keep up with these cars.

5 or 6 is still a whole lot more people than the zero that I know who have had crankwalk in Honda's, Subaru, Toyota, and Domestic combined.

It might not be crankwalk, but with DSMs its always something, the owners know it too. How many times have DSM owners posted in meet threads here saying "ill come if the car runs" or "if i can get the car running again"...i remember quite a few, in almost every event thread.

300z's got high cost of maintenance be wary especially since you appear to be young. I took on a 300z my freshman year of high school and worked on it all the way through. They are not easy to work on in any sense of the word, they are complicated as well as sophisticated. Unless you are an automotive savant or something of the sort I would highly recommend finding something a bit cheaper to maintain.

I learned a hard lesson in car economics with my Z hate to see you have to go through the same.

Also post any info you have on the Z Turbo, Year, Millage etc.. so we can further help you out here.

If you weren't such a cool kid with such a fast car I'd give you so much **** right now. But crankwalk happened early on to a few kids it doesn't really happen at all. Go onto dsmtalk and see how many guys within the last year have crankwalked throughout the whole US. I can remember maybe one guy!?

Well put it this way. I'd much rather my car crankwalk then be stolen and stripped. How about that infamous Honda being stolen rate? And least when my **** gets ****ed up it isnt just gonna dissapear and then I'd lose all mods ontop of that as she gets stripped.

Orlly? Then why do a lot of 2g dsm's with upgraded clutchs bypass the clutch saftey switch? Maybe you mean on the 98-99's?

93 1/2 - 97 are prone to it. Mitsu changed the block design and had problems with it, some of the cranks weren't built to spec and some just had the wrong bearings. After 98 they got it worked out.

DSM's don't get stolen cause thevies are afraid they will break down on the way to the chop shop.
