(this is for 2009 btw)

I have some prep to do, especially since I need new wheels/tires, BBK kit and better front end links on my ride for this.

NYC to Vegas baby. 12 days of driving, 2 days of parties and a long ass drive home.

Entry fee is $3400, with a $250 deposit, which they honor at $500 if I pay now.

That leaves $2900 for entry and I need a co-driver. Since I am going in MY car, I'll count that as a 2nd entity I'm responsible for.

If anyone is interested out there, that's $966 for your share of an entry. Vegas baby. Girls gone wild style parties. Crazy cars. Fun. Booze. Boobs.

More info on this once I get my poop in a pile.

Just a quick blog on my to-do list:

Transmission Cooler
18" Wheels + tires
BBK front/rears in black/white letters if possible
Adjustable Front End Links (Perrin dog bones keep breaking on me)
Pro Tune for this trip

-------------

I'll start with the most attainable: I'm going to the JSC speed meet on 11/11 so I'll see what they can do to hook me up with some adjustable front end links. These perrin end links keep blowing the spherical bearings.

I'm budgeting in $250 for these end links, I want top shelf so I don't have to keep doing this at $125 a pop.

BBK kits are going to run me about $2,800, but well worth it... comes with all I need. I think I can resell my current stage II setup of Stoptech and go with Brembo. but...

I'll need some 18" rims. I'm seriously considering throwing down and getting some BBS wheels. I got a 2nd job as a contractor out of NYC fixing laptops for loose change so I should have no problem getting some top notch gear. Tires... I'm thinking some kind of Asphalt rally tire for this one trip, but then again, I love the Goodyear Eagle F1's that I have had all year long so far. I'm anticipating $4,000 for the wheels, tires and mounting. That's not even snow tires. 18" snow tires suck balls from what I hear.

the 5EAT transmission is great, but heats up after about 4 hours of driving. The way I drive, of course. I did Hartford, CT to Exton, PA in 3 hours 17 minutes and 12 seconds tonight. Average speed: 84.221 mph. I really need to slow down. Beat a CLK550 that was revving at me tonight, and he tucked his balls into his ass hole and limped off the highway after being schooled by a family sedan =)

Much to do, much to do.

I don't even know WHERE to get the lettering/numbering for the car, as well as the clear-bra/protection so people can sign their name all over it and I can keep it for posterity.

More to come! I'm so excited.

Again I'll correct you slightly. 09 Rally probably won't go NYC to Vegas. It's 5 days of driving not 12. AKA rally supplies all vinyl that goes on every vehcile.

So lately my wallet has been as empty as some of Obama's promises, and it's mostly coming from the sheer quantity of gas that my car consumes as a daily driver. That's right, ladies and boys, it is time to get tuned. I should have done it last year, but I just never got around to it.

So on last years endurance run, I got to meet some pretty cool people, and from that, talked with a guy who completely sold me on Agile. They use a dyno pack to test the car, which sounds safer to me since there's no chance of the car breaking free and launching into the wall, or hurting someone.

The down side of it is I'm going to be doing the 30r turbo project so I'll have to get retuned after the turbo, FMIC, fuel pump and injectors go on, but hey... if I can afford that, I can afford another tune, right?

This car is quickly becoming more expensive than my ex wife when I said "get what you want for our wedding." My bad, but I'm knee deep in it now. **** it.

I plan on documenting the process as much as Hill lets me. I'll bring a video cam and a digital camera. These guys sound great, and were a real help on the phone.

Before I forget (and it's something that happens more and more theses days, after I turned 32 this year =(... ) I decided negatory on the entire IPT transmission bit. For what I am looking for, I can accomplish with stage 2 clutch packs and a Valve Body mod. I'm looking to put more pressure on the points and hold more heat. It may be ambitious, but I'm really aiming for over 400 to the wheels by the end of this summer.

But I like my ambitions like I like my titties; big, soft and in my face.

More to come.

Before getting "sold" by a fellow TST member you should do some homework..Ask any tuner outside of a shop that uses a dynopack what they think of them..I don't think you will have anything to worry about as far as your car flying off a dyno.. Ask yourself if a dyna pack can apply proper load to the car throughout the RPM range to assure your tune translates to power on the street.. You ECU operates on a load vs. RPM table so it's kind of a big deal..

I'm not talking about tweaking my car up to 325 on a zomg I just got teh best tune evarrr! type of tune. Ever since the spring has come around my car belches clouds of smoke every time I step on the gas, and it's from running rediculously rich.

I'm looking to get better than 16 mpg and tweak the power up a fair ammount before I gut most of my engine and do a 30r setup.

That's funny, I see more subarus on the road than Evos. And the ones that do are busted or all running the same thing. Nice try.

Edit: It seems irony has caught up to me. 5/25/09

All projects are on hold indefinately as we find out if the car will be warranteed, or if it's totaled.

The motor is missing about 20-25% of it's metal on the passenger side, many components were blown clear off or fell off during detonation. No one was hurt at the time. Highway had to be closed down to clear parts off the road.

Car lost 3.5 Qts of oil over 2 hours / 125 miles - is being investigated for warrantee. Welsh Subaru of Limerick did all my oil changes, and 3 weeks ago I brought the car in for burning oil. Was told I was running fuel rich and the car was safe to drive and ready to go. Trip up to CT was fine, driving around CT was fine, the trip back; checked oil and air pressure in tires, everything good. By the time I hit NJ car was down 3.5 Qts, added more oil, drove some more and the engine exploded, literally.

Estimated 16,000+ repairs for motor, oil pump and system, turbo, manifold, belts, pullies, windshield washer system, radiator, intercooler, exhaust and intake systems. Possible total. We'll see. Loved that car =(
