Today I was putting the drivers door panel back on in the BMW. Everything was clipped in and bolted, then I went to installed the tweeter. Well tweeters don't work without wires right? I forgot to bring the wires out from under the panel to the designated area for the tweeter. So I had to fish the wires out from behind the panel as I didn't want to pull the whole panel off again.

I just remembered another one. I was helping a friend replace his thermostat in his 96' Accord. I got the new thermostat in, and as I went to put in the second bolt, I dropped it. So I searched around under the car, all around the engine, I couldn't find it. I have spare bolts for my Accord so I used that since its the same type. After bleeding the system and snooping around for leaks, I saw the bolt right in front of my face. All I needed was a magnet to get it out.

back in the 80's I was replacing the sepentine belt on my first car. I was pushing on the tensioner with a wrench when it sliped, my hand pushed forward, and a cog from the cam gear went in to the back of my hand, it bled like hell.

another time i cut my self with a knife cutting some wires off the blade weht like one inch in the flesh between the index and the thumb, that was realy painfull specialy taking the knife out!

I constantly forget to put the drain plug back in before filling my car with oil. Usually I'll start to see the puddle by the 3rd or 4th quart. Defiantly sucks, Royal Purple is not cheap.

I was 16, removing the battery from my girlfriends car. As I turned the wrench removing the power cable, the wrench touched the ground terminal. It shocked the hell out of me, so I let go of the wrench, which was left there arching off. It eventually melted the back of the battery and caught on fire by the time I got the wrench off. I had to buy her a new battery... and I let her dad put it in.

Please note: Definite sleep deprivation during this whole time.

Around a month ago, I was trying to take out a stripped off TORX bolt for my passenger seat. I was running out of ideas, head was completely rounded..no luck. So, I try to cover everything with foil tape only to find out it's flammable, so I ditch that idea. Hmm, how about if I freeze the fcker with a can of compressed air (upside down) and knock the head of the bolt off with a hammer. That didn't work, so I was at wits end, and I took the torch to it again in a desperate attempt to pinch vice grips on with channel locks..REALLY tight. Keep in mind, there was around a half hour and there was no more white stuff from the compressed air and it was not cold anymore. Well, I lit the torch up (blue propane job) and went to put the flame on the bolt...and what'dya know. My car's on fire! OH ****, what do you do? try to blow it out.. Well I inhaled whatever fumes were being given off a good 3 times and was choking as well as panicking. Tried smushing my floor mat where the fire was but that didn't work. Eventually grabbed a big thick moving blanket I was kneeling on and snuffed it out. Melted the interior of my carpet in a good 4x4" spot.

Eventually got it off, but first tried slotting it to use a flathead and just broke off one side of it..then drilled it out, which was easier than all of the above.

I win.

If you have extra parts left over..that just means you built it better.

Oh, and by the way...the fumes from the compressed air are what lit on fire. I froze a nail in the drive way, and waited a good while. The same thing happened where there were holes in the rocks for the gas to lay in.

I've done that as well, haha, kinda surprising when your driving and then it's like "wtf, my turn signals are broke?"
