Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

The turbo version is new so even if there are problems, its unlikely you will know about them yet. General rule is usually not to buy a car during its first release year, but I dont recall if this is the first or 2nd for the turbo cobalts rather than the supercharged ones.

Try to get some info from Consumer Reports
There should not be TOO many issues with the a t/c Ecotec. They did it in the Solistace GXP, as well as the the Sky Redline. Both were pretty awesome cars. This is the first year of the turbo cobalt though. Did the ss/sc as the first run, stopped for a year, and then the ss/tc was released this year.

Although with the turbo in '08... things may change, but I believe it's still the same chassis/suspension.

Why not a '08 GTI?
They made quite a bit of improvements over the 08 ss/tc then the ss/sc. Same chassis, but a lot of improvements over the last run of the ss/sc versions.

Looks good. When you are gonna start modding, check out cobaltss.net, and look into Hahn racecraft for some nice upgrades. What those guys have done for the GM Ecotec world is AMAZING

ugh, the motor in the 08 turbo cobalt has been out for 4 years now(same motor as in the sky redline and solstice GXP) the platform hasnt changed, but has had some tweaks, so technically even though its the first release year everything has been out for more than 2 years, i have no clue why people bash cobalts soo bad, my SS has far nicer interior than any VW i have seen, heated leather seats, radio and DIC controls on the wheel, radio is sweet, and the pioneer 7 speaker system.

I don't know if any of you guys realize this, but Cobalts are extremely competitive in just about every single racing class they have ever been involved in. Especially time attack and Pro FWD.

I say go for it, they are an awesome platform.

No more VW for me for a while. Just want something new. I test drove it and it handles great and the ride was very smooth. My friend also has a 2005 and I believe the 08' are def an upgrade compared to them.
Just wanted to add I'm "the guy" and I liked the car.

GL with the colbalt and I hope to hear from you or mike soon.

Hi the guy haha.. I didn't mean for it to sound mean I just didn't know your name because Mike was talking to you the whole time.. I am so happy you liked that car.. Its is amazing. I am glad your getting it because I know you will take care of it. Too bad you didn't get on it during the test drive haha... You didn't get to feel any of the power haha :-) I will talk to you when the title comes in... Your car is sitting in my drive way until then :-)

Thanks everyone
